Any way we get Davis and Durant to go along with Kyrie??
Actually yeah.
Trade Tatum, Smart, Yabusele and two firsts to Pelicans for Davis.
Meanwhile Durant tells GSW he want to opt into his last year and be traded to Boston or he is opting out and signing elsewhere.
So Durant opts in and gets traded to Boston for Hayward and picks. Durant would need to opt in to the one year deal because if he opts out and sign and trades to Boston, it hard caps Boston which would mean needing to trade off salary and being handicapped with no MLE or LLE.
So he opts in and gets traded and next year Ainge re-signs Durant, Davis and Brown after winning #18

I'd be stunned if that's all it took to get Davis. Durant, I could see that as a remote possibility if he pushed GSW. they'd be unlikely to get back as good a package as that from someone else (that Durant would approve a trade to) but I'm wondering why Durant would do it. He's got a great situation in GSW -- top contender while they keep that core together -- and if he were to leave, it's supposedly because he wants to be the big dog on his own title contender which wouldn't necessarily be the case with that line-up in Boston. If anything, I could see him wondering how joining another superteam would further tarnish his accomplishments
Durant is unhappy being around Draymond. He left OKC because he couldn't stand being around Westbrook. I think Durant is gone, it's just a matter of where. If he thinks he would like to end his career in Boston, this is how he gets here.
Although I find it funny when I brought this up months ago I was mocked for GSW never wanting to make Boston a superteam, and never accepting such a potential deal....now we are all getting hocked on the durant drugs.
I think another reason that Boston would be a choice, is not only would Boston have 2 of his absolute best friends in the league in Davis and Irving, not only would Boston be on his short list because Boston has already been on his shortlist, but you also have to consider that Durant loathes Lebron, and he doesnt want to play and beat Lebron in the playoffs, he wants to beat him on the biggest stage. He wants to beat him in the finals so that there will be no excuses from Lebrons camp on the beating he will take.
Oh, don't get me wrong. I don't think it happens. I think the chances of it happening are dang near zero. I was just laying out a plan to get Durant here and giving the reason why Durant wants out of GSW.
I think there is every chance that GSW would tell Durant to pound sand and go sign elsewhere that they are not going to help him get to a team he wants to be on. It happens a lot.
George wanted to be traded to LAL. Indy ships him off to OKC
Kawhi wanted to be traded to LAL. San Antonio ships him off to Toronto.
Davis wanted to be traded to LAL. He is not being traded there.
After the whole superteam creating in Miami, it doesn't seem like teams are to thrilled with trading superstar players where they request being traded to.
