We all know Kyrie is a free agent blah blah. If we resign him does everybody think it will be just that or do we all think it will be really busy. We all know the AD will be there all off season long . Rozier being a fa. I believe this will be a huge offseason for this team. With all these picks coming. Half the roster could be gone.

It will busy.
If we get AD, we will need to replace few key pieces.
Morris and Rozier likely gone.

If we don't get AD... Kyrie could be gone.
I wonder if we can get Kemba if Kyrie is gone.

They need to upgrade Morris and Rozier - that gets done regardless.  But what happens beyond that depends on Horford, Baynes, Kyrie and what happens with Davis.

I'm guessing Baynes does not exercise his player option because he's worth a lot more than $5 million.

It's a huge off-season though 'busy' hopefully involves retaining their key players.

As frustrating as Morris is, I would prefer to have him back in a bench role.

I know I'm putting the cart before the horse on this but I think a deal for AD is a close to a guarantee as it gets.   the only question is, what is Danny giving up to get him and if AD is willing to resign here.  I'm figuring Tatum, Smart, Williams and Yabu with all our picks this year since none are likely to be high enough to hold on to at least Williams.  if we can give up less, good for Danny.

I figure the roster next year will likely be: Kyrie, Brown, Hayward, AD, Horford as the starting line-up.  after that, i suspect the rest of the current roster will be gone with the exception of a couple of players -- probably no more than 2 of the following players: Semi, Theis, Baynes, Morris.  Wanamaker probably comes back as third string PG.  other than that, I suspect we'll have fresh faces for next year that can hopefully play as well as we need them to in order to contend.

whatever happens this offseason, I hope and pray that both Morris and Rozier are GONE.

I am coming to grips that Smart is probably gone, I have to even say that out loud, but the odds of making a deal for davis and not including him are very slim. (Why the heck did Danny not trade Morris and Rozier for a 9 mill per year contract that extended into next season????why???????????)

So bench will most likely consist of Wannamaker, Theis, Baynes and probably a pick. ( I cannot see Danny offering/giving up all 4 first rounders this season)

Jeremy Lin is a guy I'd like to see them use the MLE on as a Rozier replacement assuming the Davis trade happens and Rozier is gone.  I think he would be a big upgrade giving the bench scoring and playmaking.

I think the off season starts before the draft when an AD trade get announced. That will trigger a major overhaul of the roster this off season. Tatum, Yabusele, the picks and then maybe Brown or Smart will be gone.

I think the team moves on from Rozier but attempts to retain Morris. I think Morris tries like heck to find a situation where he and his brother can play together though and moves on. Baynes loves Boston and after the injury plagued season decides to stay in Boston.

Horford re-does his deal and is signed to a four year deal after opting out, saving Boston big bucks next year.

Theis decides to move on with writing on the wall of Davis, Horford, Baynes and Williams being in front of him on depth chart.

Kyrie re-signs on a 5 year max

The team retains Brad Wanamaker

Kyrie
Smart or Brown
Hayward
Davis
Horford

Baynes
Williams
Ojeleye
Wanamaker

Free agents they look at to acquire with the taxpayer MLE(not saying they end up signing them)
J.J. Barea
Ish Smith
Wesley Matthews
Jeremy Lin

Free agents they look to acquire with vet minimum or BiAnnual Exception(not saying they end up signing them)
Vince Carter
Jared Dudley
Shelvin Mack
Jonas Jerebko
Omri Casspi

Hard to not think Davis is coming to the Celtics. Is there any better way for the Pelicans to get revenge on Magic and the Lakers then to send him to his arch enemy? They did not budge during trade deadline and barring a lucky lotto magical move up for the Lakers, I don't see how they will beat anything the Celtics will offer up. Magic and the agent for Davis essentially ruined the Pelicans remainder of the season with their demands. Nothing better then a grudge vs. the Lakers.

There is no doubt Danny told the Pelicans enough to warrant waiting for him. No matter what is being said, Danny gave them some assurances no doubt. This no doubt has impacted our inconsistent playing.

I would think it will be quite busy and our team will look nothing like it does today no matter how the Davis to the Celtics plays out. If Kyrie did walk and no Davis, that will be fireworks as well...but the kind that explode in our hands instead of the sky.

Davis deal gets done, but not for as much of a cost as people think.

Morris and Rozier are both shown the door.

Horford re-ups contract for longer but for less.

Kyrie signs

Starters:
Irving
Brown
Hayward
Horford
Davis

Bench:
Baynes stays, Theis Stays (williams is part of the deal for davis), Wannamaker stays. Smart is 6th man. I think Danny keeps the Sacramento pick and gets his choice of Reddish and Little at that spot.

Taxpayer MLE: Beverly
LLE: Vince Carter.

Bench:
Beverly/Wannamaker
Smart/Vince
Reddish/Semi
Theis
Baynes

Search the scrap heap for another vet bigman.

If you show Morris and Rozier the door and keep Hayward, Brown, Smart, and the Sacramento pick, where exactly are you getting the $22-25 million in salary(depending if Davis decides to wave his trade kicker) to ship out to New Orleans to complete the trade?

I think one way or another, it will be pretty busy.

Certainly busier than last summer was.

But I don't believe half the roster will be gone.

Busy offseason - maybe not necessarily with the volume of transactions, but with all of the nonsense rumors that will be swirling around the Celtics and AD.  There will be a lot anxiety on this board - remember when that ESPN news article was posted here that Kevin Durant had chosen the Celtics, the one that was pre-written in the event that he actually did choose the C's?  Might I suggest avoiding all of the noise and pay attention only to rumors/reports from credible sources such as Woj.

I certainly hope that there are some big transactions, specifically AD.  I'd happily part with Tatum for AD.  My other major hope, among others, is that neither Rozier or Morris are back with us next season.

Tatum, Yabusele, Williams, and 3 picks for starters, once we know exactly what that salary is, the rest could in theory be made up from using this years MLE, or by S&T Terry or Morris to a 3rd team.

Its not impossible to make the deal without including Smart in there.
