As I have said time and time again, players don't owe loyalty to franchises. This is a business. They should do what's best them If Kyrie decides staying in Boston isn't in his best interest, then that's his right.

Actually they may not but they should ...millions of dollars they are being paid says they should owe a duty of loyalty while under contract and not do anything that would be detrimental to the team. Saying you are not committed to the franchise is disloyalty and frankly should not be tolerated. I do not talk about my free agency until I am a free agent is an acceptable answer. I am a Boston Celtic is an acceptable answer. What is NOT acceptable is yeah I am looking around but Boston is #1. That is detrimental to the team that is paying you right now., and the NBA should find a way to STOP this nonsense.

Do you know how much money franchises generate from players? Honestly, it far exceeds what players are allowed to make under the CBA. That doesn't stop them from trading them at a whim. Look at Jayson Tatum, he one of the NBA's rising stars and I'm sure the Celtics make bank from marketing him. That doesn't stop them from discussing trading him for Anthony Davis.

Disenchantment with the CBA is not justification for anarchy. You sign the CBA then you abide by it, and not take steps to undermine it. You should be loyal to your employer. What about the fans...they are really the ones that foot all the bills. Anyone care about them? Of course not, because they are not organized. The fans --- the most important part of the equation, that group that spends the money, watches the games, fill the stand to make TV exciting to watch, pays everyone's bills, is always left out of the discussion. It is time for fans to organize and stop being taking for granted for a product that they pay for.

People leave jobs every day - sometimes it's for higher pay or better location or better coworkers. Just like employers fire employees every day. That's business. There's no loyalty there.

Anarchy? That's a bit of an overreaction, no? Unless I missed a significant portion of the comments coming out, Kyrie never said he doesn't intend to complete his contract with Boston. Expecting him to commit beyond his current contract and not expecting the Celtics to come out and promise to max him out no matter is a bit hypocritical.

No its not....Anarchy is a state of disorder without respect for authority. Many, maybe not you, have suggested that players do not owe anyone anything. I disagree they owe their employers a lot and they certainly owe the fans that pay their salaries. The players and the league act as if this money just pops out of nowhere but it does not the fans pay all of it. Even the TV money is because of fan interest.

Organize fans...get some respect for your money.

I was thinking this too albeit in a more negative way -- that Kyrie (narcissist that he is) just likes seeing his name in the media and saw this an opportunity to get people to talk about him. To woo him. To tell him how great he is. How he can change this team or that team. Blah blah blah.

Keep in mind that what he says publicly might not be an indication of the recent discussions he has had with Ainge and the rest of management.  Ainge talks to his players about this stuff all the time.  For all we know, Kyrie vented about the circus and Ainge said he had no problems with him expressing his frustrations to the media.  DA has never shied away from playing games with the rest of the league. 

I'm not saying that this is necessarily true, but I wouldn't rule it out either.

As I've always said, the team plays freely and better without Kyrie. He seems like a poor leader to me.

All he had to do was say..."I have already stated my position and where I want to be." These stories are bogus.

I see this a the stars are aligning for Boston and all the other jealous Francises are lining their media spins up to try and dismantle it. Nothing but sour grapes and spin doctors.

If they trade for AD he must play next year. Lebron one year older this year and another next yer. He is showing signs of wear. Would AD really want to pair with a 35 going on 36 year old superstar. Maybe not, Kyrie is younger, the Boston core is younger.

Lebron has been great but his days are closing.  All great ones begin to fade in basketball at close to this age.

The real jerk in this picture is Lebron's agent. He is self serving to Lebron. Doesn't have AD best interests in mind. In time or perhaps one injury in the next two years to Lebron and AD will rethink. Maybe even get rid of that tired agent who is Lebrons buddy. That is crooked.

Dannt knows what he is doing and Boston now needs to whole heartedly support Kyrie. Cheere so loud for him the rafters shake and ghosts of old fall upon him.

I'm tired of the me Lebron NBA. Who names himself the king anyway? Kings become tyrants.  He started the undoing of himself with the goat statement.  When will the basketball world really see him?

- We are absolutely helpless to change that in any way, so there's zero point in panicking.

How many people have actually watched the video? The stream of out of context quotes make everything seem far more severe than it is. I suggest people actually watch the video.

I wonder what role the recent cold weather has played in this -- hey it's -50 in Boston with windchill! Let's ask Kyrie if he still wants to stay here!

Let me add to fairweather's comment that Kyrie wants to be in the best place. It's perfectly correct that he should seek to do what's best for himself. That's how this works.

The Celtics can retain Kyrie's services easily: Make Boston the best place for Kyrie to land.

Fortunately,  Making Boston the best place for Kyrie totally corresponds to Boston's championship aspirations. I read these comments as Kyrie putting pressure on Boston to trade for AD.

Thank god for Danny Ainge. We'll be fine. Danny's at the helm.
