The NY dominated sports media is attacking the Celtics relentlessly. Aided by all that LA suction created for Davis.

Rotoworld, which is a NY internet site, currently has quotes from some other NY based internet site, that Kyrie is now not committed to the Celtics. In addition, they are saying that Davis wants to play for the Lakers, not the Celtics.

The media has no ethics when it comes to this stuff. They say whatever they want. Fake news, opinion, or otherwise.

The best thing to do is to ignore it, as most GMs do. In NY and LA, the media does the dirty work for the local teams. And that includes exuding a considerable amount of Boston hate--mainly out of jealousy for past Beantown successes. A big purveyor has traditionally been ESPN (the main one based in NY, not the Boston one), but now NY's MLB Network, with its Yankee bias, has also shown its disdain for the Red Sox. It even rates Judge over Betts in RF! LOL. Boy did they hate last year's results. The guys that run these networks are New Yorkers who grew up fans of NY teams. Only the ex-players and coaches on these networks have any semblance of objectivity.

Boston fans should ignore all this, and understand the sources. The sports media is full of opinions and fake news, much of it politically inspired.

When Kyrie said he was staying, I took it with a grain of salt...he just wanted to make the crowd happy that night.

Let's see what happens, but I bet the C's aren't exactly excited about paying him $40 Million a year.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.

Kyrie is a phenom and awesome tonhave on the team but that doesn’t mean we can’t win without him nor does it mean he’s a necessity.  As a steeler fan( yea sue me, at least it’s not the Eagles, lol), this same stuff happened with Antonio Brown. Great player to have but may not be worth it. Kyrie wants to play with a superstar, he’s learned that.  We had one that broke his leg and two in the making that may or may not pan out.  Ainge I’ll have to play his best poker to win this hand.

Kyries thought process is all over the place . He just says whatever comes to his mind... a lot of brilliant people are like that but he isn’t brilliant.
By proclaiming his commitment to the Celtics last summer I think he p---ed of Rozier who was caught between being a backup and not having the minutes to showcase for his next contract and not getting traded to a better situation.
There is definitely a correlation between Rozier a performance level and kyries game availability

Terry Rozier said Kyrie Irving was active giving him point guard advice tonight: "It’s just to have him right here in my corner, it’s special.”

Rozier is special

And glad he hasnt been traded

He sure was special on May 27, 2018 when he virtually singlehandedly cost us a Finals appearance due to his poor decision-making and shot selection.

Amazing basketball talent.
Annoying puke of a man....making it hard to even want him to stay. Could have just said this to start the year

Did you watch the entire interview or just read the two quotes taken out of context?

At least he was there

Where was Irving that game?

Reading all the interpretations on here, it sounds like a great big firestorm of BS. What do you want the guy to say? He's a free agent at some point, and then he'll decide. His preference is to stay in Boston. Heck, enough said. Some of you guys are too dialed in to the media.

I mean, I wish he wasn't there, to be honest with you...

Amen.  Just let the season play out and stop listening to the talking idiots on the slots outlets.  As soon as AD farts it’s a story.

General take: NY's speed and aggressiveness to create two max slots and Davis's implied reluctance to even be traded here suggest Kyrie has let it be known he's at least considering leaving.

Positive take: From the videos, Kyrie seems more disgusted with the media circus than dubious about his earlier commitment.

Time will tell. I trust Ainge to navigate this correctly.

Yep. While we'll all agonize and overanalyze all of this, Danny truly knows as much as anyone where Kyrie stands, and we should all trust him to do the right thing, as he's shown that he has no reservations trading a Boston star if it means improving the team.

I suspect that if we don't trade Kyrie before the deadline, which I think there is virtually a 0% chance of happening, then Danny thinks that he will resign here and still plans on adding Davis to him.

I just wish this crap didn't happen right now. It's pretty clear that Rich Paul and his groupies have done a solid job in organizing all of this and throwing as much doubt into the picture as they can, which primarily benefits them regarding the AD situation.

Espn shares a lot of blame too...like always

Agreed, I’m kind of embarrassed for our fan base reading some of this

TP.

Kyrie's stance on his free agency plans haven't changed. He will test the market. But he likes it here a lot and Boston is the lead choice.

He can’t say he’s 100% signing here when the offer hasn’t been made yet.  They can’t talk business until July and that’s what’ll happen.  It’s pretty simple.

He’s said over and over and over he likes it here and Boston is his top choice.  There’s nothing left to say.
