It’s a lot to ask a 26 year old to be a great leader.  Especially when he arguably just started the real process a year ago when he left CLE.  Everyone takes time to mature into a great leader whatever the situation is.

It’s easy to forget these guys are kids when they come in and no truly great leader is great without a lot of experience.

Yeah.

And thankfully the Celtics have a really good leader at coach and multiple players who have been here longer who seem to have really high level leadership qualities in Horford and Smart.

Kyrie is the best player on the team but he's not the leader, and that's OK.

ESPN disgusts me. They are a major player in all this nonsense. Their shilling for the Lakers and Knicks has reached monumental levels. Pretty much every headline is pushing a Knicks/Lakers narrative.

They must be losing some $ with those bloated TV contracts, eh? Firing half their employees wasn't enough. Those scumbags NEED to push NY  and LA because of heir own ineptitude as an organization. God, I hope they go under.

I make a point to not click on any of their articles nowadays. Just box scores, and that's always with adblock enabled.

Bad disguised profanity. Please don't do that.

Watched the whole video. Sure seemed to me this was more about being angry that he has to put up with all the crap caused over the last few days with from other people having an agenda than Kyrie saying he could go anywhere.

Even the July 1st comment seemed out of anger. The person asked if he had changed his mind about Boston and Kyrie, paying no attention to the person, while looking down at equipment he was adjusting said disdainfully:  "Ask me July 1st."

What happens July 1st? Mostly announcements that free agents have reached agreements with teams, such as Kyrie signing with Boston. This could have just been his way of dismissing the question
by saying ask me July 1st when I am signed with Boston because you are bugging me right now with stupid questions.

Then someone asked him why his change of tune. Kyrie was rather dumbfounded by the question as if nothing has changed since then and asked the reporter what they meant. Then the reporter framed the question like, and this is important, well you said that you were going to re-sign in Boston but now you are saying I am just going to wait to July 1st(to make a decision). Kyrie didn't say he was putting off a decision until July 1st. He told the reporter to re-ask the question on July 1st, the day a deal with Boston would be released. Kyrie said nothing changed.

This, in context, is the most important part of everything said and his body language, what he was doing, how he answered and how the question changed after his July 1st comment.

He never said he was undecided. He never said he would see what he decides on July 1st. He never said he changed his mind.

The July 1st comment was to dismiss a reporter's question.

He blamed all this stuff on being involved in rumors that had nothing to do with him and he sure seemed to be angry about that.

He said the media are the ones that kill locker rooms with this type of stuff.

He said he didn't live in this hub of stuff(meaning media craziness and rumors). That's probably good advice for many here.

After hearing all this I don't see this interview being any confirmation that Irving is gone or doesn't care about his team or team mates or any of the other stuff being theorized. I just see things as being the same as the ever were.

TP. Except the only difference now is that he has to continue dealing with this crap that Rich Paul and these other teams are throwing out there. Have to think that he knows where all of this is coming from and will not want to appease that crowd.

Hmmm..

Chris Fedor: A handful of former and current #Cavs have felt for a while that Kyrie Irving would end up in New York. One I talked to recently for my story said Brooklyn is most likely. Another said the Knicks. Another asked me where I thought and I said Boston. He give me the side eye haha. 3 hours ago – via Twitter ChrisFedor

Watching the interview had me very encouraged. Kyrie simply isn't a fan of the media. They are creating controversy to create click bait stories. He's focused on the season and has no interest of being involved in this media created soap opera.

Eh. One of them was almost certainly J.R. Smith. It’s pretty meaningless.

There is no way Kyrie is going to the Knicks unless he knows for 100% certainty Durant is going there too.  And Durant going there makes no sense unless he knows that Kyrie is going there.  So why don't we here these rumors about Durant?

This stuff was brought up a few months ago and Kyrie supposedly said the knicks stuff years ago.  Probably in a time where he was frustrated playing under Lebron.  More of a fantasy at the time of playing for his own team, somewhere not the Cavs.

AD also spoke to the media and said he never gave the pelicans a destination. Reading off of what Kyrie and AD are saying it sounds like there's been a lot of lies flying around. Media and Rich Paul fueled I'm sure.

This, 100%.

But you have the perennial Kyrie Detractors on here that will throw him in the slamma for spitting on the ground...waiting for ANY comments / actions that they can run with to demonize him.

I'll say this, though.

I still believe that Kyrie Andrew Irving is re-upping in BOSTON and Anthony Davis will be soon behind him.

But with THIS being said can we blame him (or even AD) for ANY uncertainty in their comments?

After all -

Is ANYTHING certain in the NBA nowadays, LOL??

LOOK - we EXPECT our STARS to be COMMITTED...to throw themselves on a sword for their home teams...to go down with the ship....

And when they do, well.....see above pic.

I TOTALLY understand WHY Isaiah was traded. I believe Kyrie is marginally better than him. But at the same time we can't fault our stars for being REAL.

Didn't AD comment on the Isaiah Thomas trade??

I've said it before and will say it again - Danny Ainge is a GREAT GM - but with being a GREAT GM you oftentimes leave your emotions at the door. You simply CANNOT expect your stars to reciprocate LOYALTY - if they DO it HAS to be MEASURED.....................

i like what you have to say ....i seen this for 30 years ,  its about appealing to the masses , who congregate in the largest cities, they want to say WHAT ever it is these certain large groups want to hear.  The truth is not part or this media , thats long gone away.  It s all about views , clicks , ratings .  They push the agenda that generates the most money .  These huge outlets are their target group.   We peoples out in the boonies don't count to the big media .  Us and our truth .....boring.

I think Durant does a good job of shutting down those rumours. Not participating with the media's rumour mongering.

Kyrie seems quite poor with the media. You would think he would be better with them by now. He has been around long enough. Had enough practice.
