Kyrie Irving: "I don’t want to answer all these questions about my future all the time.”

Straight from the horse's mouth, people... It's pretty clear what is driving this frustration.

How many people have actually watched the video? The stream of out of context quotes make everything seem far more severe than it is. I suggest people actually watch the video.

Yep, though people are fine with just taking the headlines they see and running with it. All of this coming out is *literal* fake news. ::) Seriously, people should feel foolish about all this agonizing over something that has been completely misconstrued to serve the media's narrative.

For further support of RJ's argument:

Just watched the Kyrie interview footage. Looked to me that he was just  frustrated w/folks putting his name in their mouths about something that wasn’t his doing. 🤷🏾‍♂️ Tough spot to be in.

And that's from a Spurs beat writer with no conflicts of interest.

“Ask me July 1”   He’s sick of answering the same question to the media when he’s given an answer already.  Don’t ask him again until July when it actually matters.  This will happen to a person when you’ve asnwered it 85 times and they twist your answer around publicly.

“I don’t owe anbody sh-t”   Again talking to the person who asked him the question.  Doesn’t owe the media an answer he’s already given.  He’s not saying he doesn’t owe the Celtics sht.

Business as usual, nothing to see.  Yet another spinoff by the media, taking more crap and fitting it into their narrative.

What has changed from his committment earlier?

If Kyrie sits tonight or Sunday, he's gone.

As I've always said, the team plays freely and better without Kyrie. He seems like a poor leader to me.

All he had to do was say..."I have already stated my position and where I want to be." These stories are bogus.

As I mentioned before, how can we rule out the potential that Danny Ainge is fine with Kyrie playing into the media circus?  DA likes to dismiss the gossip, but we all know he will try to control the public narrative whenever he has a chance.  He loves this stuff.

I woke up super late today, and just found out about this 'development' like 30 minutes ago.

I knew this forum would be in meltdown mode.

But I'm glad at lest one person here is sane, and can see through all the BS.

TP, you basically summed up the whole situation perfectly.

TP. I don't think that this is part of a DA media conspiracy, but he's like the anti-Belichick, He likes having this stuff out there to throw off his competitors. When was the last time that one of DA's "fireworks" moves was actually consummated? We all had Okafor or George or somebody coming to Boston as part of a trade rumor. Nobody predicted Kyrie coming. Danny is the king of misinformation.

Here's the video, btw. It's short:

http://www.espn.com/videohub/video/clip?id=25900707

I am definitely upset about the comment, especially since it makes New Orleans that much less likely to wait around for us, but it's pretty clear by the end that Kyrie simply sick of the questions. He won't even look at the reporters.

I'd rather he hadn't said it, but I don't feel as negative as I did back on page 1.

We're going to have an answer within a week. If AD is still on the Pels, the chances that he's leaving go down a lot.

Funny how these quotes didn't make a lot of Twitter feeds:

"Obviously this has become an entertainment thing for everybody. So somebody else is asking for a trade and I’m thrown into that, and uncertainty comes back on me. At the end of the day I don’t live in this little hub. Some people call me about this dumb sh*t, and of course my name [keeps getting] thrown in this."

"This is a new position for me to be in, answering all these questions, seeing all this stuff that I’m trying to avoid, and it’s just a distraction. It’s crazy how stories and things and storylines can seep into a locker room. You guys are part of the destruction of locker rooms."

Of course not. They don't want truths just hot takes and tweets stirring Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. up

There’s more to it than grabbing the 15 sec section that sounds the worst.  Also he’s in New York.  Hmm... wonder if he’s been absolutely swamped with media garbage in the last 24 hours.

he also could have just said something like I've already answered this and my position hasn't changed so stop asking me about it

I still think if Davis stays in in New Orleans past the deadline Danny makes the play for him. If he gets Davis, I think Kyrie resigns.

But I do think Kyrie wants more help now (ie trade Tatum/Brown).

So if Danny packages under-23 players and picks for another star in their prime, that should keep him happy here.

Lol of course not, as that doesn't fit the media's narrative. I didn't see these parts quoted anywhere, even in Boston twitter feeds.

NY specific stuff:

His thoughts on the Kristaps Porzingis trade: “I respect the Knicks organization. Obviously they’re making moves to position themselves for this upcoming summer. So I wish them the best.

Will Knicks fans be chanting for you tonight? “I started playing this game without the fans, without the money. So I’m just excited to play a game that I love and do it with my teammates.

Thank you.  It’s sad to watch the media paint their own reality and us as a fan base completely accommodate and live in it.  We need to move on and enjoy our top 2 team in the NBA.

Boston continues to be confident about re-signing Kyrie Irving this summer, per sources. But make no mistake: They understand that adding AD may be the only way to guarantee he stays.

Hmm I wonder if Danny’s goal is for lakers or knicks to grossly overpay for AD....
