Can we just take a quick poll?  Going into next season with koufos as a FA who would you rather have, biyambo or koufos?
If everyone picks Koufas and a few months into the season Biyombo is outplaying him significantly, does this lend proof to my "fluctuating trade value" theory that ChampKind called me a "dipsh** F'ing Weirdo" over?

Or are you all going to still pretend that Koufas is more valuable?

The subjectivity of this debate -- just poking in after being at work all day -- seems a little pointless.

In a small or arbitrary enough sample size player X can outplay player Y and still not be more valuable than him, right?

-------------

I tried to find it just now but couldn't.... but a while back someone IP started an over-under bets thread on CB (DKC off-season bets), where you could put out a scenario, like "Jared Sullinger will play 80 games in 2015-16" and another person could bet the over or under.

Winner got a TP or something...

It seems like doing something like that would be more useful than 20 posts of

-- "Player X is better than player Y"

-- Nuh-uh

-- Yes-huh

-- No he's not yer crazy

-- Yes he is because of ____

-- etc....zzzzzzzzzzzzz....

 :-\ :)

----------------

ironically i've made it worse with 3 posts --- but the relative pointlessness of the debate makes it harder to find posts from GMs about who's available, etc.

When I reached out about LaMarcus Aldridge, Birdman asked for Julius Randle, Khris Middleton, Otto Porter jr and Jrue Holiday.

 ::)

Again, this is a flat out lie. You make it sound like Bridman asked for all of those players for Aldridge in a single trade. Where as these were your offers:

McLemore and #26 for Aldridge
Exum for Aldridge
Randle for Aldridge
Aldridge and Isaiah Thomas for Jrue Holiday ( wow  :o ::) )
Gasol and Aldridge for Middleton (again...just wow..smh. But we know whey you are p---ed now)
Biyombo or Stauskas + 26 for Aldridge (well, this isn't surprising anymore)

Ofcouse, you've pointed out many times how LMA is old, so he isn't worth more than the ransom you've offered.

Sorry, LarBrd33. I just had to post all this since you publicly make false accusations against another GM. You did that with hpantazo and you did it with Birdman.

Continue doing that and the number of so called "bad eggs in this league who don't want to trade with you" will continue to grow.

I would have voted to veto every one of those, but not because I have something against LarBrd

Are these real trade offers or are you just spitballing BFM?

I would have thought LarBrd would have offered a 2nd rounder so Birdman responded saying he wanted all that

Real stuff. All offers made by the GM who "overpays" in every trade.

I didn't want to do this, but since he usually cries "bullying" and make offers via PM that are completely different from the ones he claims to have made publicly, I feel it is deserved.

Private trade offers should never be posted in public. We've gone over this in years past.  [It doesn't really matter what the purpose is --- it's not appropriate.]

I agree. And I've said the same thing in the past. But what do you do when one GM publicly claims he offered Kevin Durant and LeBron James for Bosh; and then criticizes the other GM when he misses out on the trade. Later, it turns out he offered Jason Terry and a second rounder via PM. How do you combat a flat out lie? Especially when the person doing it has done it more than once?

Right... and other GMs don't do this, right?  You just sent me a message saying Dario Saric is on the same level as Andrew Wiggins, Towns, Okafor and Jabari Parker.   When I reached out about LaMarcus Aldridge, Birdman asked for Julius Randle, Khris Middleton, Otto Porter jr and Jrue Holiday.

This is what he said publicly. Birdman asked for all those players. Birdman didn't make anything public. He pulled similar stuff with hpantazo.

In this isolated instance, I have no regret in making anything public. Especially when he accuses others of bullying him...calling them bad eggs who won't trade with him...don't know how to evaluate players' worth etc.

If a GM constantly lies, it will be apparent to others.  Their lack of truthfulness will eventually hurt them in trade negotiations.  But if someone publicly says I offered x for y, the GM who received that offer should be the one to say, that isn't true.  The fact that a third gm (you) are chiming in with the details of trade discussions between two others is not appropriate.

"how do you combat a flat out lie" ---- the person who is a part of the discussion can say, "that isn't true".  There is no need to have a public campaign.  Regardless of who the owner is.

Bellevue was also wrong for posting private discussions in public. It shouldn't happen. period.

I understand not posting trade offers but I have no problem with it if people ever want to share my offers.

I'm not ashamed to admit that I lied when people were asking me what I was offering for Marc Gasol and told everybody it included pick #4 in an attempt to scare off competition.

However I never offer deals that I would be embarrassed to show up on this thread.  Like they say in all the lifetime movies about cyberbullying.  don't put anything on the internet you wouldn't want on the front page of the NY times.

I fully agree with BFM. Trade offers should never be made public , but LB33 not only went and made them public on his own for no reason, he also completely misrepresented them to throw other GMs under the bus.

In my case, I never even made an offer but he went and stated publicly that I made some outrageous offer for Biyombo. After weeks of letting everyone on the boards know how poorly I think of Biyombo , and after almost a year of telling LB33 in trade talks how much I value Saric, he sends me a trade offer of Biyombo for Saric. Sure I found it offensive , and just responded that unless he starts talking about his top prospects in trade offers, then don't ask for mine. He then posts that I asked for about 4-5 top prospects for Saric , when in fact I never asked for anything and don't want to trade Saric. This is awful, disrespectful, deceitful behavior and he needs to be called out on it.

The only offer I made to him in weeks was made publicly in this thread, Nurkic and 14 for Embiid, and he has not said a word publicly or privately on it, but had plenty of time to make up stuff about how he is bullied and low balled by people.

I mostly agree --- if both sides are okay with putting private offers in public, then that's fine.  But I'm not sure this is the situation where both sides consented to it being put in public.

Yes - I said upthread that Bellevue was wrong for publicly posting private trade offers.  This isn't about singling one owner out. No one should be posting PRIVATE offers in PUBLIC unless both parties agree. That's it.

As much as I generally agree with Y'all on the topic I think LarBrd waived his right to private negotiations a long long long time ago.

Stuff like this is why I only let him make me offers here now. And so now he won't make me offers. Gee. I wonder why.

I'm with Eja on this. When a guy not only makes trade offers public but totally lies to misrepresent them, he loses his right to privacy regarding offers. Also the other GMs at the very least have the right to post the true offers
