#Lovetotrade sends 12, 16, Kostas Koufos
Birdman sends Marc Gasol
So to answer your question LarBrd this strikes me as a classic youth/depth for quasi superstar in his late prime type move between two GMs who aren't 14 and do business with everyone. I don't see why on Earth I'd veto it.

Pretty much, gasol is 30 and entering some risky times with him being a free agent this year and his situation possibly changing.  Also it's yet to be seen how he will play not next to z-bo who is getting up there in years
CB Draft LA Lakers: Lamarcus Aldridge, Carmelo Anthony,Jrue Holiday, Wes Matthews  6.11, 7.16, 8.14, 8.15, 9.16, 11.5, 11.16

Rondo 2287's top ten mock draft

Bellevue – Karl Anthony Towns
Bellevue –  D’angelo Russell
Lovetotrade – Justice Winslow
Lovetotrade – Jahlil Okafor
Lucky Strikes – Emmanuel Mudiay
Toines Boys – Cameron Payne
Lucky Strikes – Mario Hezonja
Ubuntu – Stanley Johnson
Lucky Strikes – Montrezl Harrell
DD – Trey Lyles

Heh... so in this world, WCS and Porzingus are going to fall out of the top 10?

I don't understand the wcs love from a fantasy bball perspective .  Do people think he is gonna be another Dandre Jordan?  I don't really see it

Now  have #8, #12, #16, #25, #34 picks..and Koustas

This rebuilding is kinda of fun and brings new life for me in this league no matter what ppl thinks of what I did  :)
Rebuilding is fine. I thought you said this was your last year.  At least one of those picks has a really nice shot to be as productive as biyombo (wcs at #8)

every year people become infatuated with the draft the closer to it approaching.  Around Boston "draftoverhypeitus" seems to directly correlate to how deep the celtics are picking.  You guys know more names because you have to... Boston picks in the no man's land of #16.  There's a reason why Boston is desperate to trade up or out of this draft.  Some nice guys at the tippy top but then a crapshoot of mediocrity.  And I agree with you on Willie Cauly stein. He put up worst stats during his third year or college than biyombo put up in his 21 games as a starter... But WCS might go as high as 4th in this draft... Or 3rd if you believe embiid is toast.

That was a baller move getting Marc Gasol for 12 and 16.   Nicely done.  I regret trading 10 and 15 too early. I should have waited for draftoverhypeitus to kick in.

Interesting reading 76ers fans take on this.  Most of them are calling shenanigans.

Hmm don't know how to feel about the timing of all this. I'm very skeptical of this happening around the same time as KP6 gaining momentum and Russell canceling his workout with us. I don't question whether or not he had a setback, but I wonder if it's really minor and is being presented as something more serious to take attention away from the "Russell to Sixers" talk.

Quote
not sure how bad this can be considering they must have taken a CT scan a couple of months ago, and if you can believe what the FO is putting out, the concern is only about a perceived lack of progress from that CT scan (when he was cleared for playing) to the current one that comes after no reported pain or injury issues. like their disappointed that the the bone tissue isn't a little thicker. seems more like caution from a sophistication in sports medicine that would not be a part of the recovery regimen a few years ago. unless they're outright lying/covering up, which has not been their mo, this seems to indicated prolonging the rehab schedule rather than any drastic set back.

Consensus seems to be that this old minor news the team is sitting on, and they are trying to give the illusion that they are still open to take a big man.  Why?... because they already have two franchise bigs and it's been widely known that DeAngelo Russell is their target.   Problem is, the Knicks are desperate to get Russell... and the Knicks don't pick until #4.  Knicks don't want Mudiay, because he doesn't fit into their triangle... it's Russell or bust.   Interestingly enough, Russell just cancelled his workout with the 76ers.   Some think there is a deal between the Lakers and Knicks where the Lakers will take Russell 2nd for the Knicks and still end up getting the guy they want (Okafor).  The assumption being that the 76ers would let Okafor slip to 4th, because they don't need another big.  But now with this info, they make it appear that they do need a big...

Sounds like a wild conspiracy theory to me.  We'll see what happens.

LB33 and a few unreasonable Sixers fans are in denial.

Overall it's a terrible sign for a guy who hasn't played in over a year and still is not healthy and may not be able to play in summer league and training camp either. He hasn't played nearly as much basketball as most guys his age and his body is already breaking down. I don't see him holding up over 82 game seasons for very long imo.

Great trade for both GMs. Birdman is going to enjoy rebuilding and enjoy the league more now. I hope he sticks around long term to see it develop. On a side note for Birdman, when you get married you need to spend more time in this league, not less. Take it from someone with experience in that regard  ;D

Rondo cashes in some of his assets for a top tier center, which makes sense for a team with a lot of youth and assets to do. I gave it a shot at Gasol and Dragic myself but didn't have the assets to do it and still have some top prospects left like Rondo does.

also im getting Koufas...if gasol leaves, then KK may be the starting center for Memphis or he may sign somewhere to be a starter (Boston)? So taking a gamble with him..If he does start and I get 2 quality rookies, then I be satify with the trade..so far:

Gone                             Coming
Marc Gasol                     Kosta Koufas
Goran Dragic                  #8
                                      #12
                                      #16
                                      #25

C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

that's sayin somethin when 26 year old 16fp kosta koufas is the best asset you received for your two all-stars.

Heh jk.  The draft always has surprises. You might luck into a nurkic or gobert with one of those picks. Or they will all end up on waivers. Who knows.

@Birdman

There will always be people who will say they could've offered you a better deal after a trade is completed. Ignore the sour grapes.

I think its a fair return for both sides.

I think it's fair return too.  That's about what I'd expect a 40fp all-star to fetch...  middle-tier 1sts.   Glad everyone agrees.

Sour grapes as usual.

I'm sure your offer of Disciples 2016 first and multiple second rounders aka first round picks in NBA was a lot better.

Don't cry every time you lose out on a trade.

Apparently you had a better offer for Dragic as well. But yet he is on GC's team now.

If you want to acquire a player...offer something better than a combo of Biyombo and some second rounders. Perhaps then you will find a GM with an attentive ear.
