i guess nets doesn't have the assets (picks+lopez?)... maybe they were after nene to filp him to orlando?
It was rumoured that they had offered two first round picks besides Morrow and Lopez. Was that wrong?
I'd heard that as well. I think they own a Houston pick and all of their own picks going forward.
Yeah, its Houston's first rounder (top 14 protected through 2016) but Detroit holds Houston's second (top 40 protected in 2012, top 35 protected in 2013-'14). I doubt that second pick means much to Orlando.
Still, Lopez + Morrow + Houston's #1 + Nets #1 is a good offer for Dwight. Better than Bynum and the scrubs LA will try to unload.
Don't know why Celtics can't get into these talks.
Rondo + Green + JJJ + Clippers 2012 first-rounder + Celtics 2013 first-rounder.
That's a better deal than the Nets one (Rondo better than Lopez, Clips pick should be better than Houston's or New Jersey's) or anything the Lakers would be able to come up with.
The CP3 saga is playing out in front of us...in the end, it doesn't matter what we can offer. If Howard doesn't want to play in Boston, he will walk away after the season. Boston is not on his list from all the rumours I've read.
I don't think that's a good enough reason. You think CP3 is going to sign an extension after the trade to LA is approved? Of course not. He is due to make significantly more money by opting out and resigning with the team. Same goes for Howard. He's not signing now regardless of where he goes.
Does that mean he would definitely stay? No, but we would have quite an advantage in resigning him or doing a mega S&T. But with West and Pierce and probably cap space to bring in a very good PG, it's not as ugly a situation as some make it out to be. I could see him loving Doc and the city.
