This roller coaster of emotions the past 72+ hours is killing me.

First we are near a trade for CP3 then LA of all teams swoop in and trade for him. Then the trade is killed. Then they are working on a new deal to trade for him. Then we are going to sign David West and LA drops out of the CP3 talks. Then Boston may be after both CP3 and West and now our chances of landing West are 'slim'.

IT'S KILLING ME

Which means we are due for another 'high' here shortly

exactly...what else could produce a greater high than hearing a rumor that BOTH paul and west are celtics-bound? ha, ha.

I hope so....that would be PERFECT

Try to work some deal with the Pacers, I guess. Maybe DA can squeeze in somehow.

im starting to seriously wonder if maybe the league has given the hornets a directive not to make any move that could be seen as helping a big market team.

pacers are small market, so sending west there instead of celtics looks good for the league's objective of making small market teams viable.

Yeah, it was good to think about it for a day or two.  :(

i really don't want to get hyperbolic about this, but seriously, the difference between a celtics team with a KG / JO starting frontcourt and the team with a West / KG starting frontcourt is ENORMOUS.

if danny swings and misses on all of his attempts to revamp the starting 5, it will be very disappointing.  difference between guaranteed 2nd round exit and "anything is possible."

This sucks. Can we just send money to NO with JO?

Hopefully West holds out because he wants to win. Forced NOH to get a trade.

West is a FA. How can he force NOH to do anything? Pacers can just sign him outright.

what doesnt make sense to me is, isnt it in NOH best interest to do a S+T and at least get something for David West??

rather than letting him leave to Indiana for nothing...hornets are going to be screwed once CP3/West walk for nothing

why is it so difficult to do a S+T?

$$$

also, it wouldn't surprise me if the hornets are just determined not to deal with the celtics.  the league doesn't want to seem like they're helping big market contenders by shipping out the top players from their league-owned small market team.

Yeah, if the C's cover part or most of his contract, why wouldn't NO do it.  Better than getting nothing from Indy.

the league owns the hornets and they don't want to help out a big market team get better at the expense of a small market team.  that's the only explanation i can think of, unless david west was totally full of crap when he said he was desperate to play for a winner.

Indi is offering two years, $20 million.

Danny should call the Clippers, and use JO to get Kaman.
