I think a couple of you guys might be reading this wrong.  JO is going to be included, no matter what.

JJJ or Moore are being discussed, with no word on whether they're included or not.  However, they'd both be in addition to JO, not in place of him.

Boston-NO deal for David West still on hold, sources say. Waiting on NBA. C's rookies, JaJuan Johnson and E'Twan Moore discussed in deal.

This makes a little more sense and gives the hornets something to keep. Also no need for JJJ if we land West.

This make sense, i'd like to keep JJJ but at least we need a center, so i hope JO stays

Ya, good way to look at it. Its true between KG, West, and also Bass we pretty much have that PF spot locked up. Kid wouldn't get much time anyways.

And we really need a true C going forward. Even though in my eyes JO is made of glass he will be healthy to at least start the season and he's pretty skilled compared to what else you have out there.

JO is going to have to go nomatter what just to make the salaries match up. It will likely be something like JO, JJJ, Pavolvic(garbage filler) and maybe a 2nd round pick for West.

Either JO or JG have to be involved in the trade or the salaries won't work no matter how many of our rookies+Bradley are involved.  I think JG will end up doing more for us than JO even though we have a greater need at Center so I hope we keep JG.  In terms of the rookies, we should do better with the Clippers pick than either of them so it is probably better we keep the pick.

NO needs players now so maybe these rookies are of value to them more so than a future pick.  Fine with me.  We can backfill those spots with waived veterans just fine making us better this year.

So if it is JO+JJJ+EM for West, bring it on.

Also, the Hornets are working with the Boston Celtics to finalize a sign-and-trade to send free agent forward David West to Boston, sources said. West and the Celtics are working on a three-year deal worth between $27 million and $29 million, sources said. The Hornets are likely to take back Jermaine O’Neal and another small contract player in the deal. The Hornets won’t keep those players, but have deals in place to move them elsehwere. The sign and trade is the way for New Orleans to get some return on a player who was already planning to leave.

Marcus Banks named as a sign and trade to LA in the CP deal.  This clearly ups the advantage to LA. ;)

I'd rather keep JJJ than to part with him for a 30+ year old guy coming off of ACL surgery.

So, the Lakers and Rockets can swing a Paul deal without having to give up anything of "future" significance, but we have to part with our top pick, a guy recently referred to as a "Horace Grant type of player."

I'd rather give up a future protected #1 than JJJ...

As free-agent forward David West and the Boston Celtics work to complete a difficult sign-and-trade deal, the Indiana Pacers have positioned themselves to sign the power forward should talks with the Celtics flatline on Sunday, league sources told Yahoo! Sports. The Celtics have been discussing a four-year deal with West, sources said. Still, Boston is limited under sign-and-trade rules with how high it can go with an offer. The Celtics can offer the first three years in the $24 million to $25 million range, but the fourth year would likely not be fully guaranteed.

Several sources believed there would be a resolution Sunday.

Indiana has been discussing a two-year deal with West but with a higher annual salary, sources said. The Pacers have cap space to sign West outright, while Boston, which is over the salary cap, needs the sign-and-trade scenario to acquire him.

The quote I read was that he "desperately" wanted to play for a winner.  So I hope he is just going to wait for the deal to get settled.

Yeah, I think he'll choose us over Indiana. I fear a third team might make a last minute offer and spoil it though (fingers crossed).

LA Lakers? For David West in exchange for the traded player exception?

Maybe they switched targets from CP3 to David West. See West as a better asset (than Odom) to net Dwight Howard or a better fit alongside Dwight Howard if they use Pau + Bynum to land Dwight.

David West deal probably isn't finalized, because the Lakers will use their trade exception from the Lamar deal to steal David West... then package Gasol and Bynum for Dwight Howard.

It's a Laker world... we just live in it.

UGH!!

That actually makes sense.  Howard and West is a pretty good froncourt

darn Lakers always trying to screw with us
