It's a little bit weird because when it came out that West was close to signing with us, I remember a few reporters saying that he had really, really wanted to find a contender. I'm just surprised he'd jump onto an average situation so soon after this trade fell through.

wow u gotta be kidding me. why goto indy?

Indi is offering two years, $20 million.

Danny should call the Clippers, and use JO to get Kaman.

why would the clippers do that deal, unless we sent them their own 1st pick that we have the rights to?  even then, kaman just isn't that great.

B.S.

you're telling me some team under the cap won't take on a somewhat productive center on an expiring deal?  i call shenanigans on that.

Kaman would be a good rental, but I am sure that more can be gotten from him than JO and filler.  JO being bought out would give some financial flexibility to the Clippers, but with the Chris Paul trade rumors, it seems like theyd look to surround him with the best possible talent.

i really don't want to get hyperbolic about this, but seriously, the difference between a celtics team with a KG / JO starting frontcourt and the team with a West / KG starting frontcourt is ENORMOUS.

if danny swings and misses on all of his attempts to revamp the starting 5, it will be very disappointing.  difference between guaranteed 2nd round exit and "anything is possible."

Obviously not the likeliest scenario, but if JO's fairly healthy then they'd be in the "anything is possible" category.

West finally to Indiana, sad :'(

Via @daldridgetnt sign and trade for West to Boston is dead, Indiana likely to sign him.

We dodged a bullet...it would've hurt our cap space for next year, only guys signed next year would be rondo, pierce, johnson with team option on bradley and moore. Bass could opt out next summer and sign somewhere else.

If we trade Bradley for a pick we gain 1 million in cap space and Moore is a scrub anyway. We would have 25-26 million in cap space. Hopefully Howard is a free agent then we could start his first year at 18 million and have 7-8 million to resign KG and Allen to multiple year (2 year contracts). Then sign vet minimum guys... West is finished forget about him he's just looking for his last payday.

After matching DeAndre Jordan's offer sheet, Kaman becomes an expensive backup. Trading for JO shaves some immediate payroll, and they might further save money by negotiating a buyout.

1st Curry and Gordon are more desirable than Rondo and now we couldn't complete the West deal because they couldn't find a team to take on JO.

Why are our players so undesirable....I don't get it??!??

I bet West is almost as disappointed as us.

WHO ARE WE GOING TO SIGN WITH THAT CAP SPACE?

im sick of hearing about preserving cap space.  howard, paul, and d-will won't be available next season.  the free agent crop you're talking about next summer sucks.

the cap space won't be much good except for cobbling together a team that will ensure us a high lottery pick after next season.

This one has been very disappointing.

I was hugely looking forward to KG at center and a team of elite shooters around Rondo. It would have been the most beautiful offense in the league.

Danny should have put more picks on the table. There was never enough incentive for New Orleans to take on JO's salary. Danny needed to do more.
