4. Toronto Raptors – Look, I know where all enamored with KG and all but did we forget about his Minnesota days? He can not be the primary scorer or go to guy offensively. Great defensive team but one of the worst offensive teams (if not the worst) in the league. This team would be better in the playoffs but I can’t see them there.
Going outside the game here for a minute, I wouldn't say that's true about KG, at all, and I'm surprised you feel that way. He's carried our team a ton down the stretch, including being the Celtics leading fourth quarter scorer in our championship run. Additionally, he was an MVP in Minnesota, due to his play on both ends.
It just seems odd to have that opinion of a guy we've seen play so much over the past two seasons.
I'm surprised you disagree to be honest. To me, KG's status that I described has been well documented and witnessed for years. The guy is not a scoring ace, but that's not to take away from what he does on both ends of the floor.
Also Roy, without Garnett, the Celtics score a little better (103.2 PPG versus 99.9 PPG) and their shooting improves (49.8 compared to 48.0). Why is that? (#'s based on last season).
As I said, KG was our leading 4th quarter scorer in the playoffs. He was also our leading scorer, *period*, in the playoffs. Only Perk shot a higher percentage among our rotation players in the playoffs. And yet, you're saying he can't score. It just seems odd to me.
If KG can't score, then Pierce and Ray must really suck.
