We've had good activity here, although I'm a little concerned/frustrated that some GMs seem to be incommunicado.

Haven't heard a peep from the Cavs, Jazz, Kings, Sixers, or Knicks GMs.

The Knicks GM just got back last night and checked his PMs.  He has hinted at waiting till the start of the draft to get active.

As for the rest, I do not know.  If any do not show up for their pick, they will be replaced.   Things are not hidden on here.  They are responsable for being on top of things.

Actually, Commish, would you mind pinging those GMs? It would seriously cramp things up if a couple of them actually flake out on the 1st round Monday.

I don't think i've  heard from any of them either.  I think I might have spoken to the Cavs briefly and he might have been confused on what was going on.

Anyone else impressed we are up to 400 posts on this topic, and the draft is still 3 days away?

Anyone else impressed that I have 216... no wait... 217 (since i just hit reply) messages in my PM inbox since we started this thing?

I merely am here to provide opportunity and hope to my fellow GM's.  That's all.   It's all a matter of perception.  People have different strategies and concerns.  One poster wants to bring in lots of picks in a specific round, because he foresees talent there...  so discovering these opportunities and working out these strategies is what makes this so darn fun :)

AS sort of a follow-up to this post, I was thinking we make some kind of trading block, where we say what we want and what we'll give up. I think that might make trade offers more interesting and easier.

You can do it on this thread.  I don't want to many threads on this, it gets confusing some times.

Nice rivalry developing in the West.

Portland team president Roy Hobbs responded to recent comments out of Boston that noted the "rivalry" between Portland and Tehran.  Hobbs' responded "Rivalry?  What rivalry?  That's like saying there's a 'rivalry' between the hammer and the nail."  Hobbs further explained, "Let me be clear for all those Lakers fans out there, because I know they're a little slow:  you guys are the nail."

When asked later in the day whether he stood by his comments, Hobbs replied "Did I compare the Lakers to a nail?  Sorry.  The Lakers are much too soft to be compared to a nail.  I apologize to carpenters everywhere."

Posters can bounce ideas off me if they needs someone who doesn't care who has the best teams but understands what is going on.

Just so you know, any information I gather from that will be used to make vague rumor reports.  Nothing that will give anything away.

In the interest of clearing the air for any future controversies, I just want to be on record for stating "I HATE YOU ALL"

Now, can we please have some friendly, harmless competition.

  • The good ole days.
I've thought long and hard, and am here to make an official announcement.... the #2 overall pick is NOT available.  I will, however, entertain moves for anyone who wants to stack up on 7-15 rounders in exchange for 4-6 rounders.

Memphis's picks in Rounds 5 thru 12 are available. The franchise would like to add an additional 3rd or 4th Round pick.

Roy if your strategy is to keep me from completing my draft board because I'm too busy writing fake draft reports, then all I can say is 'Bravo.'
We're the ones we've been waiting for.

The Golden State Warriors are proud to announce the signing of DeeBrownSuperFan as their assistant GM. Although new to CelticsBlog after meeting with him we decided his overall commitment would outweigh his lack of experience. He is willing to discuss any trade but needs to come to me for the final go ahead feel free to direct offers to him as well as me.

(and no, I do not live down here.  I live 5 states away with my wife.  I am just down here for an interview.)

I love the trash talk very clever Roy. I'm sure a rivalry will build up after years and years of meeting in the Western Conference Semis. With the winners earning the right to get dismantled by the Mighty Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference finals.
