The Atlanta Journal Constitution is reporting that the Hawks have traded their 1st round draft pick (#22 overall) to Miami.

An earlier version of the trade was momentarily tabled, but Hawks GM Lucky17 confirms an agreement with Bring Back Antoine was reached moments ago.

Specifics of the deal are pending league approval, although cash considerations are known to have been a part of the trade.

question:  Will players who go to Europe be eligible, like Josh Childress and Carlos Delfino?

If a player would be eligible to play for the NBA (despite foreign contracts) can be selected.

The commish has fixed everything.

The trade should now be on the draft board (but do double check)

If a player would be eligible to play for the NBA (despite foreign contracts) can be selected.

Then you may want to add them to the player list since they aren't on there.

Nope.  That list is a helping tool.  It is not the end all be all on players.

Miami-AP -  The Miami Heat announced today that Pat Riley has been fired as head coach, citing his inability to fully utilize Mark Blount and Jason "White Chocolate" Williams' talents. "We are grateful for the ring that Pat was able to win for Antoine," said Heat GM BBA, "but we've decided to go in a different direction."

With that the Heat announced the hiring of head coach Peter Auerbach Fleiger, great-grandson of legendary Celtics coach Arnold "Red" Auerbach. GM, BBA, has come under some scrutiny from the Miami public due to the young age of the team's new coach. BBA noted, "With genes like that age will not be a factor."

The team is expected to hire several veteran assistants, and an official announcement cannot be far off.

Pat Riley could not be reached for comment.

Rumor is that the Suns' scouting team has 140 players broken down using criteria that Suns Chief of Basketball operations, Alex Grady, would favor.

Due to the number of unsolicited offers Memphis has been receiving for its 2nd round pick, I feel the need to announce that the Grizzlies have no interest in trading down or out of the 2nd round before draft day.

Especially interesting to note that many of these offers are coming from franchises that have dealt their own 2nd rounders, and do not reflect the value Memphis places on the pick.

That said, I would also like to reiterate that the team's picks in rounds 5 thru 12 are available. The Grizzlies would like to add an additional 3rd or 4th round pick.

lon3lytoaster brings up a good point.  The Tehran Lakers logo is not just incorrect, it's outdated.  We hope to retain nothing from the now defuct dark ages of the Los Angeles era, and need something to connect with the Iraqi people.

If anyone has any free time and photoshop skills and you'd like to help us out please send a PM to Robb and let him know.  We'll let the TPs flow like doogh on a hot, summer's day.

Guys,

I will most likely not be available to pick during rounds 5 through 7, and I'm enough of a control freak to simply trade out of those rounds rather than appoint a deputy GM to pick for me.

I currently hold a 6th rounder (#9) and a 7th rounder (#20). I'm looking to package these picks with my 3rd (#20) and 4th rounders (#19) to pick up additional 2nd, 3rd, or 4th rounders.

If I'm unable to do that, I'll look to trade these picks for picks in rounds 8 through 10, probably later this coming week as the draft unfolds.

I'll be checking my PMs periodically through the weekend, so feel free to send offers.

Thanks,
Lucky

Charlotte, NC - Breaking News.   Sources confirm that the Bobcats have recently completed a trade with the Celtics that will net them the 10th pick in the 3rd round.   The deal (pending league approval) reportedly involves Charlotte's three 5th rounders and will see them receive two additional picks from Boston.  Details on the specifics of this trade are forthcoming.

A recent poll was conducted amongst Bobcat season ticket holders on the subject of the controversial 1st round #11 pick.   Bobcat fans, still outraged over the loss of the #11 pick (who they expected to be Yao Ming), were asked if they approved of LarBrd33's regime as GM.  An overwhelming 83.3% of all Bobcat fans were currently disappointed with LarBrd33's tenure while 16.6% of Bobcat fans were "undecided".   When asked why she disagreed with the other 5 season ticket holders, LarBrd33's mom replied, "Well... he's my son...  and I'll love him regardless".

Bobcats interim coach, Justin Timberlake, was unavailable for comment.

Portland, OR - Portland Trailblazers team president Roy Hobbs announced that his team had acquired the fourth pick overall in the upcoming annual Celticsblog draft.  Hobbs stated "We gave up a ton of value to move up, but we're happy with the opportunity to select a true franchise player.  There are four truly elite players in this draft, and we intend to select whichever one of them falls to us.  We're very excited for this opportunity."

Hobbs also extended well wishes to his front office counterparts in Toronto and Houston.  "Those two guys are class acts.  Our teams were looking to accomplish different things, and we quickly got together and made some trades happen.  Both of those guys were a pleasure to work with."
