Nah Roy i didn't even realize that it was my previous pick that was traded.  Thanks for trying to analyze me, but Im not upset because he took advantage of somebody that doesn't know any better, i have more "honor" than that.

How in the world did LarBrd33 turn that roster into the one he ended up with last year? I'm more impressed by that than the trades this year.

No one has been picked yet, there is no reason to question trades. LarBrd is example is good as to how you can make a good team out of anything (although some of the trades he did to get those players were questionable).

Even if LarBrd made a great move there is a negative to this move for him. Now everyone in the league has identified him as a good trader and will ask for more than they would from another GM for fear of getting cheated.

I wasn't a fan of some of the lopsided trades, but if the real NBA allows Chris Wallace to make the trades he does, then I think that wdleehi's veto power should be used sparingly.  This is all for fun, after all.

Just remember that this is a game without any prizes, or real bragging rights.  I mean, who "won" this thing last year?  Does anybody remember?

(It was LarBrd33, I think, followed by the G.M. of the Celtics and Donoghus, in that order.)

How could you forget the Hartford Rockets?   A GM that came in late to the game, origanaly thought it was a fantasy draft (such picking the wrong guy late in the 1st) and still ended up with a deep defensive team

Watson
Stevenson
Jefferson
Boozer
R. Wallace

with a bench that included
Cassell
M. James
Barry
Carrol
Brown (sf)
Dampier
Jason Smith
Doleac

as well having the rights to Van Horn, and everyone saw how he was a good trade value last year.

TEHRAN (AP) -- A recent slight from the GM of the Portland Trailblazers has set Tehran Lakers owner Robb fuming.

Roy Hobbs, GM of the Portland Trailblazers, was recently outspoken about his apparent lack of concern from his Far-Western Conference counterparts indicating that "he had no worries about the Tehran Lakers."

"He's got no worries, huh?  Wake me up when the Portland Whatevers do something interesting instead of this jibber jabber.  He can't keep up with LarBrd33 owning this pre-draft wheeling and dealing, so he's got to take shots at teams that he thinks are safe targets.  If he thinks we're safe targets, we'd love for him to enjoy the opening game of the season at "The House that Darius Built" and see how things go in front of 80,000 screaming Iranians."

When asked why his team was so inactive in the trade market owner cordobes responded that even though there isn't anything being announced, the team is working on a number of proposals, but are content to stay in their slots.  "We've taken a little bit of time and looked through the pool and to be honest, we really like the value that is likely to be available at 60 and 61.  At first you think that you just have to get two players in the first round, but a top ONE player and two top 61 players aren't anything at which to shake the proverbial mugwort stick, especially if the players we think will be available are there.  I feel very confident that our organization will find great value whether it's staying put, moving up or moving down.

I have to say, I'm having a blast writing these AP News updates.  I'm this close to being flagged by the Pentagon I'm spending so much time at Iran's wikipedia page and trying to translate English to Farsi.

Some of the PMs that cordobes have sent out have been absolute gold, too.  If they didn't involve discussions about trades, I'd share them.

Also, I think this whole situation could have been handled a little better.  Since everyone is going off on how bad of trade this was, zerophase will probably be gunshy about making deals for the rest of the draft.  A definite "wag of the finger" on that count.  Everyone knows if you see someone making one bad deal you have to get in there quick to get a part of the action.

Don't get mad at the GM that is getting the good half of the trade.  You know you would take that as well.

I’m not suggesting the trade be vetoed, as you were upfront with the league about your rubber stamp policy; but I do disagree with you on one point. I wouldn’t have accepted such a lopsided deal if it had been offered to me; and I’d have been embarrassed to suggest such a trade. It’s all just too corny.

I enjoy the process enough and I’m confident enough going into a draft that I greatly prefer to cooperate with my trade partners. I try to put together fair, honest first offers; and I’d be bothered if I left someone with a bad taste in their mouth.

Maybe after it's all over? The statements to the press have been great. I tip my hat to both of you.

I think we had a few thousand last year, but I think we'll beat that.

We've had good activity here, although I'm a little concerned/frustrated that some GMs seem to be incommunicado.

Haven't heard a peep from the Cavs, Jazz, Kings, Sixers, or Knicks GMs.

Actually, Commish, would you mind pinging those GMs? It would seriously cramp things up if a couple of them actually flake out on the 1st round Monday.

Anyone else impressed that I have 216... no wait... 217 (since i just hit reply) messages in my PM inbox since we started this thing?

I merely am here to provide opportunity and hope to my fellow GM's.  That's all.   It's all a matter of perception.  People have different strategies and concerns.  One poster wants to bring in lots of picks in a specific round, because he foresees talent there...  so discovering these opportunities and working out these strategies is what makes this so darn fun :)
