And I stand by my statement that we are seriously considering forfeiting draft picks as a protest

Umm...  as I understand it, official league rules are that if you miss a pick, your team goes to a new GM.  I think you might want to reconsider that.  If not, the honorable thing to do is to quit now, so a new GM can start in your place.

I read the rules. And I didnt make a bad trade, i I think Charlotte made the bad trade.  I really dont think the honorable thing to do would have been to let Charlotte make a mockery of this whole thing in the first couple of days.

Charlotte, NC  -  BREAKING NEWS ...  In an overwhelming show of support, every single Bobcats season ticket holder recently held a massive showing outside the offices of LarBrd33 in outrage over losing out on the #11 pick in a recent controversial trade.  Fans donned in "Yao Ming #11 for the #11 pick!" t-shirts yelped, hooted and hollered at the Bobcats GM over what they perceived was a terrible mistake.   LarBrd33 was forced to greet the assembly of season ticket holders and ensure them that the team was heading in the right direction.  "Dear season ticket holders.  It's allll... part of the plaaannn", said LarBrd33.   After league commissioner,  wdleehi, addressed the audience... the 6 Bobcat fans went home.

you undervalued your 1st round pick.

Then the other GM found someone who overvalued the 1st round pick.

Why the anger towards LarBrd? People should be miffed at zerophase, as far as I'm concerned. He seriously devalued his 2nd rounder. I was prepared to make him a very good offer for it.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
LarBrd33 is a force of nature and should be respected as such. I don't even read or respond back to most of the trade ideas I get offered, because to me its still too early to evaluate anything.

His actual identity has been uncovered by CelticsBlog internal security forces. All signs point to Billy Beane. Don't pick up the phone.

I am still under the impression that Charlotte is the general manager for the other team as well because otherwise the trade really makes no sense.

Charlotte actually made a very good trade, in that they found a GM (Denver) that had different priorities.

I think you should step back, take a deep breath, and ask yourself if part of your anger is due to the fact that you used to own the #11 pick that LarBrd33 just traded.  If you're upset that he made a better trade than you did, then I think you're misdirecting your anger.

I don't know how larbrd does it, but I gotta give him props.

I didn't want to bring up that alternate universe, because it's a break in character... but since there actually seems to be a couple people upset I want to address it.

Last year I took over for another GM who disappeared after the 3rd round.  He had Yao Ming, Michael Redd and Maurice Williams.  I took over and proceeded to make a bunch of "iffy" picks... Stephon Marbury, Grant HIll and Chris Webber.

My team was:

PG Stephon Marbury/Maurice Williams
SG Michael Redd
SF Grant Hill
PF Chris Webber
C Yao Ming...

I think proceeded to turn that into:

PG - Deron Williams
SG - Rip Hamilton
SF - Andre Iguodala
PF - Chris Bosh
C - Dwight HOward
--
6th man - Antawn Jamison
7th man - Raefer Alston

.....

So for anyone to think that this game is ruined before a single pick is made... yer crazy.   Theres talent throughout all 15 rounds.   Play the game.  Have fun.  If Rondo2287 quits and another GM takes over for him... that would be just the kind of challenge that would make the game fun for the new GM.  :)

Btw... this is the reason why I purposely wanted a mid round pick and a deadbeat franchise like the Bobcats.  I like the challenge :)

Oh, come on.  They're not the same guy.  They live about 3000 miles apart from one another.  This is just getting silly.

The Commish is now selling his new PM 'How to build a talented deep team when you draft late in the 1st' for 10 easy payments of 1 TP.

A GM that did so well last year, that the league hired him to run it.

Sorry, no COD.

PM now.

Hey, I offered help for newbies for 10 easy payments of 1 TP.

One poster took me up on it.  (I am till waiting for the other 9 easy payments)

Remember, this is for fun.

But be like real NBA teams.  They take their time working out trades and they find out what other teams value the assets being traded.

IT's like larbrd33 said, it doesn't matter what you get to open up a draft. Even though I was dumb enough to trade him Howard last year, I still dont blame him for trying to get better. He just works hard at it, that's all. So just keep trying, rondo2287, you could build a team like that if u make enough offers. Plus this trade was nothing compared to some of them last year  ::)

How in the world did LarBrd33 turn that roster into the one he ended up with last year? I'm more impressed by that than the trades this year.
