I think every team does it, but when you get caught it sucks for the franchise.

My guess is that the NFL waits until after this year's draft to punish them.

It says KC and Washington may have also "tampered" in this case. Will they get punished too?

Lol this is so stupid anyways, there's a reason so many of these deals get announced just minutes after the "tampering period" opens.

Doesn?t sound like the Pats are in on Kupp.

NFL Media?s Ian Rapoport shared his belief on ?The Insiders? Wednesday evening that Kupp would have a pretty strong market that could hover around the $12 million AAV range. Rapoport specifically named the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Houston Texans, the New Orleans Saints and the Seattle Seahawks.

Media always love to drive a Patriot-hating narrative. And the Chiefs? Well, the NFL will award them one draft pick  ;D

That's how it's supposed to be, right?

LT:    ?
LG:   Strange
C:    Andrews (he says is will play)
RG:  Onwenu
RT:   Moses

Quote
Center David Andrews has reportedly reached the end of the line in New England.

Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports that the Patriots plan to release Andrews on Thursday. Andrews entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2015 and has spent his whole career with the team.

OK, so another hole to fill.  I think this means Cole Strange to C, and they will fill in guard with someone, maybe Sidy Sow.  He was solid two years ago, not so much last season.  This is too bad for Andrews.

LT:    ?
LG:   Sow
C:    Strange
RG:  Onwenu
RT:   Moses

Still an improved start to the OL over last season.

We really aren't willing to go beyond 12M a year for Kupp? Are we being serious...

Where does it say that the Pats are not willing to pay $12M or any other number?  He is just listing teams that may have interest.  I think Kupp is more likely to go to a team that will contend this season over a team like the Pats that is rebuilding and may contend in a few years, maybe.  It is just the way it goes.

I would rather the Pats sign a LT anyway.

If the Pats were willing to throw serious money at Godwin, then I'm sure they're not afraid to do the same with Kupp if they think its wise to.

I?m not sure they were willing to throw serious money at Godwin. He ended up getting $66M over 3 years with $44M guaranteed. Pats would have had to offer quite a bit more than that to make up for high taxes in MA. Probably closer to $30M/year which I?m not sure they would do for a player turning 30 next year.

Pats had to a substantial overpay to get Milton Williams. Many thought that he was worth around $18M/year and the Pats paid $26M/year. He?s the only 25, though. Just entering his prime. I?m thinking the Pats are going to go after Hunter or McMillan in the draft.

Rapoport reported that Godwin left roughly $20M on the table from the Pats.  That takes it to $86M.  I'd say that warrants a serious offer.

Heard similar things about Hopkins and Ridley over the past few seasons. As we saw with Milton Williams, everyone has a number.

It was a fast process, Williams told reporters, per a team-provided video. ?My agent was telling me teams were interested once a number got to a certain point. A lot of teams dropped out, and the Patriots were the ones who wanted me the most. I made it a priority to come here. They made me a priority, and they value what I bring to the table as far as being a versatile player on the D-line and a leader, hard worker. They believed in me so trying to give back to them as much as I can.

It sounded like the Patriots sweetened their offer to Williams and that made the difference.

With Andrews being released (sad news btw, I'll miss him) this team basically has 3 spots on the O-Line they still got to figure out. And I'm sorry, I'm not spending another season just "praying" Sow, Strange, etc. all work out. PUKE.

Go sign Jenkins or Becton for LG, Robinson at RT, and slide Strange to center. Come on, they have the cap space. If you don't want to spend on Kupp, use it all on O-Line. Then use #4 on Hunter (or trade down). Campbell is a guard, taking him at #4 is absolutely idiotic.

Pats signed K'Lavon Chaisson to a 1 year deal worth UP to 5 million with incentives. It sounds like it will come in around 3 though. Good low risk high reward signing. He failed to live up to first round hype with the Jags (shocker) but was on the Raiders last year. He had his best year there. He had 5 sacks, 7 TFL an interception and a forced fumble. Also 2 passes defended. He is also still just 25. 6'3 250 speed rusher.
