Feels like a lot of mocks and reporting in the last 24 hours are saying it's either Hunter, Carter or Campbell. Unlikely they trade out, so they take Hunter/Carter if they drop, otherwise Campbell.

3 days until the Draft.

I?m not seeing much that?s suggesting either Carter or Hunter will fall. Looks likely Pats end up with Campbell.

When it looked lik Campbell would fall to #10, Bears fans were worried about his arm length.  Any similar concerns?

This first round seems to suck.

Yes, there are concerns that he will be better suited as a guard in the NFL. Taking a guard with the #4 overall pick isn?t ideal. Really want someone who can sack the QB or score TDs with a top 5 pick. Praying for Hunter or Carter.

It is interesting how this draft is working out.  After Sanders' stock fell out of the top 3, the value of pick #4 dropped.  It doesn't feel like there will be a player left who is worth a #4 pick.  I am not sure I am that worried about it.  So you take a player at #4 and it is "graded" a reach but if the same player went say #8, it gets an A?

I bet if you looked back at drafts, that the average performance of #4 picks is not that much different than the average performance of #8 pick (for example).

What is important is to figure out who the best player is.  Make a good pick at #4 and you will be fine, make a bad pick at #4 or #8, and it hurts.

As badly as this team needs O-line help, I don't think the No. 4 pick is the place to get it?I agree with Goldstar that a top-5 pick should be someone who can sack the QB or score TDs. A great O-lineman certainly has a big positive impact on a team, but I don't think you take him at No. 4 unless you think he's gonna be a HOFer.

That last-week win could really haunt the Pats for years.

They need Ashton Jeanty talk increase and see if they can get a team to trade up to them to get him before the Raiders.   I don't think Sanders or Dart will get teams to move up that far.

I think the Raiders interest in Jeanty is looking more and more like a smokescreen.

Could be, hard to rely on anything you hear about now.  But Jeanty may be the best candidate in terms of the Patriots trading down.  I actually think TEN would trade their pick if someone wanted Ward badly enough, but it doesn't appear that anyone does.  Someone might trade up for Hunter or Carter, but even that doesn't seem likely.  So I am not holding out a lot of hope that someone will want to trade up to #4 to get Jeanty.

But if you do like Jeanty, getting him at #4 would be the right place to get him.  There is a very high chance he is still there at #4, but anything after that is risky.  He could go anywhere #4 or the next few picks beyond.  So if he is your guy, better to grab him at #4.  His ceiling is pretty high.  If you are going to "go get" a player in this draft, outside the top 3, he is a good target.  But I still don't think the Pats get offered any great haul for the pick.

The Patriots need to protect May.  They had one of the worst offensive lines in football last year, if not the worst.  Campbell might be in the 6-10 range for talent instead of top 5, but need has to trump everything here.  If not Campbell then Mason Graham, I guess, because he is BPA, but it really should be Campbell.

Have to agree but still hoping for a miracle - that Carter will be there at 4. Hunter it seems is a lock for #2.

Best case scenario is, a team trades up to #3 to take Jeanty OR the Giants take Sanders at 3. Then Carter falls to NE at 4.

Otherwise it seems very likely Campbell is the pick at #4

Maybe they trade down but idk, doesn't seem there's much reporting indicating that.

I agree though, Schefter has basically confirmed the first two picks are Ward, then Hunter.

Honestly, even if that happens they might want to try to trade down 2-3 spots to get Campbell and extra picks with someone who wants Carter.  They need to protect  Maye at all costs.  The NFL is littered with top 5-10 quarterbacks who were broken by a lack of protection in their first years in the league.  Get Everett?s Josiah Stewart in Round 2 if you are desperate for an edge, for example.  I know Carter is great, but the Pats long-term success depends on Drake Maye.  Solve that issue first.

You have faith that Campbell is a quality NFL starter at Left Tackle.  There is not consensus of that opinion. Carter appears to be as much of a sure thing that exists in this draft - it?s Carter or Hunter.  So I?ll be hopeful if they get Campbell, but excited for Carter.

Off topic but I just heard someone on ESPN mention that Cam Ward, projected to go #1 this year, apparently would have ranked 7th of all the QBs drafted last year if Ward was in last year's class with the same season and projections he just had.

That's absolutely insane.

But goes to show how desperate teams are for QBs. I mean, Colts took Anthony Richardson at #4 that one year.
