Did Brissett make a mistake by not opting in? Seems like he?s not getting interest from other teams.

He?ll find somewhere at the minimum.  He was looking for playing time, not money.  Not sure if he?ll find that, but there are a lot of open roster spots around the league still, so he?ll land somewhere.

EDIT:  Ignore this.  I see it in another thread!

Are there any FAs left that Celtics would even consider for the 15th roster spot if they agreed to sign for the vet min?

I'm assuming the door is absolutely shut on filling that 15th spot, unless something truly unexpected happens, like a ring-chaser deciding to turn down more money for the vet min?

I don't understand Dallas bringing Markieff Morris back.

They have three bigs already in Gafford, Lively & Kleber. There is no role there for him to fill.

No, they're all signed for next year. Kleber has 2yrs $22mil left on his deal.

Oh and they have Dwight Powell as well. I forgot him. Markieff Morris is their 5th choice option at center. It is overkill. They should be adding some forwards or guards. Unbalanced roster.

I hate this locker room nonsense. It just a waste of a roster spot.

Mavs

G: Kyrie
G: Naji, J Hardy, Q Grimes
F: Luka, Klay, OM Prosper
F: PJ Washington

That is the Mavs roster right now 1-4.

They have 5 centers. They hardly ever play twin bigs. Occassionally with Kleber. Twin bigs do not work well with Luka. Luka is too slow defensively. He needs speed at PF alongside him. It also makes their offense too stagnant. They are more dynamic with a legit forward instead of a 2nd big man on the floor.

2 roster spots left open.

Their bench currently consists of one good bench player in Klay. Then a below average backup SG in J Hardy who is struggling to put the pieces together in order to become a consistent quality bench player. Then a 2nd year guy in OM Propser who barely played last season. And a journeyman shooting SG in Q Grimes.

That is their bench 1 through 4!!!

Why are you wasting roster spots on a guy who isn't going to play in Markieff Morris. You need quality depth. Can you imagine if Klay got injured? They would have nothing on their bench 1-4.

Quote
Sources: The Knicks are signing-and-trading Shake Milton as part of Mikal Bridges/Bojan Bogdanovic trade to the Nets, who will also send Keita Bates-Diop to New York. Milton will sign a three-year, $9 million contract, with over minimum in year one and two non-guaranteed years.

Not sure what is going on there.

Knicks bench

G: McBride, Kolek
G: DiVincenzo
F: Josh Hart, Dadiet
F: Bates Diop
C: Jericho Sims

There is a solid role there for Bates-Diop. They will presumably go small most of the time with Josh Hart able to play bigger than his size with his mentality & athleticism but Bates-Diop gives them a legit big forward they can turn to. I was surprised he did not play more in Phoenix. He showed some quality in San Antonio. He could be useful for NY.

It sounds like Jericho Sims is their fall-back option at backup center if they cannot acquire someone better. They like him. Believe he is developing well. Works hard. I don't know. I liked his energy & hustle when I saw him play last year but he didn't have much talent outside of that.

He was a G-League guy for a little bit last year, and then tore his Achilles.  He?s probably done as an NBAer.
