Damion Lee back to Phoenix on the minimum.

I would have liked him as a replacement for Svi.

Isn't Baylor Scheierman the replacement for Svi Mykhailiuk?

He could be. They could go with a shooter SG/SF or a defensive SF/PF for that final slot. Jordan Walsh and Baylor Scheierman give them the option of either slot.

Joe Ingles to Minnesota
Nice replacement for Slow-Mo

So the Wolves bench is now

G: Rob Dillingham (draft pick)
G: N Alexander-Walker
F: Terrence Shannon (draft pick)
F: Joe Ingles
C: Naz Reid

So two first round picks and a soon-to-be 37 year old slow footed forward.

Orlando were happy with Ingles last year. They hoped to bring him back. Said he was great off the court and good on-court. They'll be disappointed to lose him.

Terrence Shannon is an old rookie. 23 years old. Maybe is more ready to play than most late 1st round picks are. I haven't seen him play. They said his style in college was more bully ball. That probably won't work as well in the NBA as it did as an older college player.

I don't think Rob Dillingham is ready for the bright lights of a long a playoff run. What is he? 160lbs? He is going to get destroyed on defense in the playoffs.

Oh I think he is. He can shoot from 3 consistently. Can rebound. Has a very high basketball IQ. Brissett's best attribute was he played hard.

Orlando's bench now is:

G: Cole Anthony
G: Gary Harris, Caleb Houstan
F: Anthony Black, Jett Howard
F: Jonathon Isaac, Tristan da Silva
C: Mo Wagner, Goga Bitadze

That is pretty solid. Strong even.

Cole Anthony was a disappointment in the playoffs. Exploited on defense and not effective enough on offense to make up for it. He has declined a lot from two years ago when he was one of the league's leading Q4 scorers. His speed & shooting made him difficult to defend. He needs to get back to that if he wants to remain a rotation player because he was a liability in the playoffs. Looked more like a 3rd stringer.

The SF vacancy by Joe Ingles leaves a little hole. They can cover it well with a three forward rotation of F Wagner, Banchero and J Isaac. Also creates a little bit of an opportunity for the young wings such as Anthony Black (no jump-shot), Jett Howard (not convinced) and Caleb Houstan (solid). Maybe even Tristan da Silva in bigger forward combinations.

I'd like to see them add another guard. They couldn't trust Cole Anthony in the playoffs due to his bad defense and they couldn't play Anthony Black as his replacement because of his bad shooting. Having a quality 3rd string PG would be good for them.

Gary Harris as a bench SG is an upgrade over Markelle Fultz from last year. Actually Fultz would be a fine 3rd string PG. Fultz outplayed Cole Anthony in the playoffs.

Joe Ingles last full season with Mike Conley: 12.1 PPG 2.7 3PM 45.1 3P% (!!) Second in 6MOY voting.

Ah, did not notice the Utah connection. Conley, Gobert & Ingles back together again. NAW played there too, didn't he? Four guys from that successful Jazz squad.

Joe Ingles to Minnesota

I am assuming a vet min, 1 year contract, $3.3M?  Did MIN have any other available exemptions?

I guess MIN is a good spot, probably more opportunity than on BOS, I wonder if we were in on him at all?

I didn't see a number.

I saw a journalist note they offered Ingles $7mil a year last summer before he went to Orlando for $11mil a year.

Is the taxpayer MLE only available to teams below the 2nd Apron? Minnesota would be above it, aren't they?

So Philly insisted on LAC taking PJ Tucker's contract in the Harden trade last year in order to free up cap room. Then ended up using that cap room to steal Paul George away from them.

Nic Batum was added to the Harden trade because of PJ Tucker's inclusion. LAC did not want to trade him. Batum did not want to leave. He wanted to retire in LAC. He leaves Philly and goes back this summer to LAC.

Interesting consequences to that trade.

I think is is fair to hope that Scheierman can give BOS what Mykhailiuk gave us last season (about 400 minutes, mostly garbage time), but you never know.  You can't assume to know anything about a rookie, especially one taken so late.  Brissett was in the rotation at times and if he lands with other team that isn't so stacked, he may well end up in the regular rotation on some other team.  Scheierman may not play any more than Walsh did last season, you just don't know how any player is going to translate.  He still has a lot to prove, basically everything.
