The times Embiid, and Paul George have been to the finals is staggering.

ZERO

Shocked they are 2nd favorite to win a title next years behind us.

Bronny?s getting a multi year guaranteed contract from the Lakers. I?m actually surprised by this. I thought he was gonna be on a 2 way so he can hone his skills in the D League.

Rich Paul made it clear that Bronny wouldn't sign a two-way deal, and I'm sure Assistant GM James did, too.

Does that mean we have to offer a similar contract to the guy we picked before Bronny Jr.? ;)

If they stay healthy, and it's a big if, I'm no shocked by this.  Embiid is the best player in the world.  George and Maxey are both top 25.  Amazing big three that complements each other well.  The issue is Embiid has averaged a shocking 27.50 games missed since he entered the league and played a season high 68 in 2021-2022.  Paul George over the last 5 isn't much better.  If one of them don't play in the playoffs they have no chance.  That's the risk but the reward is really high if they are healthy.

Anyone else concerned by how ball-dominant each of the Pelicans star players are?

- Dejounte Murray
- Zion Williamson
- Brandon Ingram

All three of those guys want the offense to run around them with the ball in their hands working the PnR. Murray feels too high usage to get the most out of Zion & Ingram.

Then there is CJ McCollum. He has the best mix of on-ball and off-ball but he still uses a lot of on-ball creation himself.

There is only one ball.

I'd do this:

Lakers receive:  Brandon Ingram (resigned, new deal), Jose Alvarado

Pelicans receive: D'Angelo Russell, Rui Hachimura, and Dalton Knecht

While it's true that LeBron is ball dominant too, at least it's just him.

Adrian Wojnarowski: Free agent center James Wiseman has agreed on a two-year contract with the Indiana Pacers, sources tell ESPN. Wiseman was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. ? via Twitter wojespn

I read he is slotted to be the 3rd Center in the rotation.  I have not seen the value reported.  He is a decent pick up for IND.  He is only 23, younger than the BOS draft picks this year.

Carlisle has developed many similar players into solid rotation pieces - Brandon Wright (and PER maniac), Dwight Powell, and Tyson Chandler (people forget how meh Chandler was until he played for Carlisle). Even Isaiah Jackson's growth and Myles Turner's resurgence can be credited to Carlisle.

I love that pickup by the Pacers and that choice by Wiseman. I hope his career can turn around.

That seems like a pretty good team to me.  Depends on if Zion is in shape and/or stays healthy, but that looks like a pretty good start.  They are going to need to find some bigs to put around these guys though.

Murray + McCollum is a decent backcourt.  Ingram and Zion are two good forwards.  They will figure out how to share the ball.  Maybe they trade McCollum to a contender who needs a guard for a young center or something.

I have no faith in Wiseman but I am rooting for him. I love seeing guys like him get their career on track after a rough start.

Think of it this way.  Would you rather have 23 year old Wiseman or 24 year old Scheierman?  Who do you think has more upside?

Last season in DET, 63 games, 17.1 minutes, about 7 points, 5 rebs, 0.6 blocks.  That is a pretty good floor for a player you can think of as a late round draft pick.  Will Scheierman come even close to that production next season?

I don't know what happened to Wiseman.  I know he was injured for a whole season.  But I remember seeing him play his rookie season on GSW and he looked pretty good to me.  I have not seen him play much since then.

I am surprised nobody has picked up Caleb Martin yet. He would be a solid starting SF in the league and probably available for the MLE.

The Warriors refused to trade Kuminga for Paul George. Idiots. That is why that deal broke down. They could have re-opened their Championship window with PG13. Instead they locked in as a .500 team.

Scheierman, and honestly its not even close. You can never have enough wings, especially ones that have a chance of being a decent rotation player. Meanwhile Wiseman is a center that two separate franchises have decided to let go. He's just not that good.
