So who would win in a hypothetical NYK vs Sixers playoff series now?

Healthy Embiid 76ers vs healthy Knicks? 76ers.

Scotto: The Brooklyn Nets re-signed center Nic Claxton to a four-year $100 million contract. Claxton gets $97 million guaranteed with $3 million in potential bonuses, league sources told @hoopshype. The contract includes a descending structure, which starts at $27.6 million, per sources

East

Tier 1 = title contenders = BOS, NYK, PHI
Tier 2 = strong playoff teams = CLE, MIL
Tier 3 = Playoff teams = ORL, IND, MIA

I am not sure whether CLE or MIL deserve to be on a tier ahead of the others or whether all 5 teams should be grouped together. I give them a bit of an edge for Giannis and D Mitchell who are proven stars in being able to carry a team in a playoff series. J Butler is likewise but his team is weaker than the rest. ORL and IND do not have such a player (yet).

Miles bridges back to the Hornets for 3 years / $75 mill.

One one hand, $25 mill a year actually isn?t that bad for a guy who averages 21/7/3 with decent shooting percentages in todays market. On the other, I put Bridges among the same ranks as a guy like Zach Lavine: a highlight machine who puts up empty stats on a bad team and doesn?t really contribute to winning basketball.

Any interest in Bertans as a 3 point shooting big man for our 15th spot?

Will be interesting to see how the Hornets do with Charles Lees as HC. On paper, they have a decent starting 5 with Ball, Green, Miller, Bridges, Mark Williams. Richards, Grant Williams, Cody Martin and Tre Mann off the bench. Not bad.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Bridges should have been banned from the league for what he did. Amy franchise that signs someone who batters women loses my respect.

I don't know if we are allowed to sign him since he makes more than the MLE.  I can't remember if that rule only applies during the regular season, or if it is year-round.

Regardless, I'm not interested. If we wanted another big man, I would be going hard after Saric.

I agree. He's about as much of a big man as Hauser is.

Plus their first round pick Salaun.

James Edwards III @JLEdwardsIII

Can confirm that the Pistons and Simone Fonctecchio have agreed to a two-year, $16 million deal. @wojespn first. Tek-19 shot over 40% from 3 on good volume after being traded to DET at deadline. DET has 12 players on standard deals with over 20 million in space still.

Dario Saric to the Nuggets on a two year deal.
