I would have picked Cleveland in 7 against us next round, but man if Indiana advances and not Cleveland then it's a golden opportunity.

Celtics HAVE to respond tomorrow night and go on to win this Knicks series. The opportunity is there. Take it.

I'm not going to lie though this is the most nervous I'm feeling about a home Game 2 down 1-0 since the 2022 Bucks series. Even in 2023 against PHI and MIA I didn't feel nervous for some reason (though they then lost and went down 2-0 vs MIA lol)

(I know we've been down 1-0 before like the 2022 Finals but those were road Game 1s)

Celtics won Game 1 of the '22 Finals.

Duh I was thinking of 2022 ECF, not Finals. My bad

Jrue is a true role model.  Not many athletes are these days, but I think he sets an example that all people can appreciate.

He's also about the only one who looked good Monday night.

I really am enjoying the Celtics Jrue experience.  Hope he's able to stick around.

The Celtics are 3-of-20 shooting in clutch time, defined as the last five minutes of the game with the score within five points, over the two games. Jayson Tatum and Brown, Boston?s star wings, are a combined 1-of-12 in those moments. Brown turned over the ball on the last possession of Game 1, with Knicks wing Mikal Bridges stripping him. Tatum turned over the ball on the last possession of Game 2, this time Bridges deflecting a desperation pass after Tatum dribbled into a double team with the clock running out. (It?s) a bunch of stuff that we can control, said Brown, who had 20 points but was just 1-of-7 shooting in the second half and finished with six turnovers. I feel like we played a little bit fast and sped up a little antsy. Just it?s a rough night. via ESPN

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Jay King: Jayson Tatum on the final play: I just kind of made the wrong read. Went into a crowded area.

They would have been better off with a no look, back to the hoop, half-court hook shot.  At least the ball is heading in the general direction of the rim.
Yup

What worries me is now, the next two are at MSG, which is a very hostile environment and is definitely gonna be a madhouse tomorrow afternoon and Monday night.

I have some college friends going to the game too (they are Knicks fans) and they feel good.

Tatum owns MSG, I'm not worried.

Well, maybe a little bit.

Detroit took 2 of 3 there.  Celtics are not going to be intimidated by a hostile crowd.  Oddly, they seem to more intimidated by teams that are not intimidated by the Boston crowd.  It's like they just expect teams to wilt under the first sign of trouble when they're home.

Right?  What a strange team they are.  But they're ours.  So I'm going to keep rooting for them until someone takes 4 games from them.

I'm really not worried about road crowds with the Celtics. Playing in opposing arenas has never really been a problem for this core.   Laying home duds seems to be much bigger issue.

John Karalis: Sam Hauser listed as QUESTIONABLE for Game 4. He had been listed as DOUBTFUL ahead of the last 2 games.  via Bluesky
