At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

He did KDs Achilles surgery as well.

Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum's surgery to repair a ruptured Achilles tendon was completed Tuesday in New York City by a surgeon who has treated numerous other athletes and celebrities, sources confirmed to SportsCenter 5.

Dr. Martin O'Malley, of the Hospital for Special Surgery, specializes in sports medicine of the foot and ankle. Sources said he led the surgery for the 27-year-old forward after he suffered the painful injury in the final minutes of Monday's loss to the New York Knicks.

According to various reports, O'Malley performed a bone graft for NBA star Kevin Durant in 2015, repaired an Achilles tendon for Kings forward Rudy Gay in 2017, a 2023 surgery for Tiger Woods in the wake of his 2021 car accident and surgery on both feet of Good Morning America's Lara Spencer in 2024. The HSS biography of O'Malley states that he has operated on more than 150 professional athletes and consults for teams in several professional leagues.

How did the surgery affect Lara Spencer's vertical?

One thing I?m sure of is he?ll rehab intensely and will be back as soon as he is able.  In the meantime the spotlight is on Brad Stevens.

That sort of worries me a bit.  He's the type of guy who will want to be out there ASAP.  That may not be in his best interest, and I hope the team discourage him from trying to come back too soon.

You would think that the team has more leverage now to tell Tatum what he can and cannot do. There is a theory out there (not mine), that he simply pushed himself too hard to play games when he should have rested.

Though Holiday dealt with lingering injuries throughout the regular season, his reputation as a known winner and top defender should interest several contending teams if the Celtics do look to move him, according to league sources. via New York Times

👀

I have multiple sources telling me the Celtics interviewed Cooper Flagg. Kevin O?Connor and Tom Haberstroh break down the latest on Flagg and other combine prospects (via The Kevin O?Connor Show) Source: x.com

While Boston expressing some interest in getting to know two of the top prospects might not be a bit of a surprise on its surface, O?Connor noted that teams can only interview up to 13 prospects at the combine. So, the fact that the Celtics interviewed two players who will almost certainly be taken before they?re on the clock with their first pick in the 2025 NBA Draft (No. 28) is a bit interesting.
