In an interview Friday on The Greg Hill Show on WEEI radio, Grousbeck -- who will remain governor through 2028 after agreeing to sell the team last week for $6.1B -- said an expected Celtics luxury tax bill of $400M to $500M next season is not the reason the franchise will attempt to exit the second apron. Rather, he said it?s the ?basketball penalties? that are rattling him and other owners leaguewide.
You can?t stay in the second apron, Grousbeck said on the show. Nobody will. I predict for the next 40 years of the CBA, no one?s going to stay in the second apron more than two years.
