All this means is that talks have been stalled. They'll likely resume negotiations again once free agency begins. There's no need to panic.

If we go young Rozier has to go. He's complete trash. Trash.

In an offseason where nothing has gone as planned, I find it unlikely Rozier will go elsewhere.

Unfortunately you are right. Do not think there will be much interest in him and Ainge can get him for cheap.

They should renounce all the FA's rights and create as much space as possible.

Exactly.

Brogdon can be had for 20 mill or so. Why resign rozier when malcom is far superior

I wonder what the money difference is.

Don't know how reliable Jeff Goodman is, but he's bringing up 4 / $25 million per.

https://twitter.com/GoodmanHoops/status/1141130184541790208

I mean, if that’s what he’s truly seeking then, “Bye bye, Al, it was nice knowing ya!”

Seriously, as much as I love Al I seriously don’t see any team giving him $100M over 4 years. I’m not even sure if I’d do $20M over 4 years.
There's not a team that wouldn't do 20M over 4 years.  Now 80M over 4 years is a different story.   ;)

Yeah 100mil over 4 years is pie in the sky.  Bless Al for all his hard work here, but if that is seriously what he wants, then we shouldn't be doing that anyways.  Those 3rd and 4tth years at 25 million ouch!!!!

Yeah, especially given that it looked like Al was already starting to lose a step this year.

Love me some Al, but no way do I do that. $25M per year over three years? Maybe, but that’s still a lot for a 36 year old Al in his final year. I think if we had AD this might be a different story, but not with him as our main big.

Guess what everyone, signing Horford to a 100m 4 year deal makes zero sense for where this team is right now. It would halt ability to sign a younger max or two in 21 and would not put us in a position to win a title next year or the year after.

Comments eluding to Danny’s health and woe is me titanic like statements just adds credence to the idea of toxicity in our town. In my opinion, it is in truly poor taste.

I would not sign Horford to 4 year high deal at 25 m per...Not unless I thought I could add another piece that would put us in position to win a title. Horford with current players equals first round win at best. Horford plus fully recovered Hayward means competitive second round at best..Horford plus fully recovered Hayward and monumental leap with Tatum(21 years old) and Brown(22) means possible third round if everything breaks perfectly and other injuries on other teams. Add PG that ignites offense and amazing tram chemistry and yes, we could pull a green rabbit out of our backside and challenge to make finals which I believe is not likely.

4 years, 100m to lock salary in a player that can help us stay competitive but not take us into upper echelon without Kyrie...never would do that. We chased Kyrie from Boston and maybe Kyrie was not Boston worthy but we gave him no chance...now we are left with a team that needs a few years to grow..Horford’s value for us is not as high as it would be for a team like the Clippers or Lakers or even Warriors or Rockets...Dont commit to putting a bandaid on a scab that covers the entire arm in hopes not all of the blood will leak out too soon..rip it off..let the young players grow and turn into giants and show some class for Horford

Amazing now that Kyrie is gone, animosity shifts to  Danny now...we are a toxic basketball town when we don't get our way...

I agree with a lot of that.  But I disagree with the notion that all of boston chased Kyrie away.  There are internet forums on every NBA team, it doesn't stop a high level NBA player from doing anything, or really have any impact on them.  If you mean the whole fanbase, then I think you are probably off base.  Kyrie was pretty much loved from the second he got he by the average fans attending the games.  He was cheered like any other celtic center piece and he was dogged when he played poorly just like any other boston player.  The fans dont deserve any of the blame for how Kyrie handled himself or how he played.

It would be interesting if we could pry Brogdon away from the Bucks.  He would fit with our team.

I doubt Al leaves, seriously doubt that, but if he does, maybe there was something to what I was saying. People were sarcastic acting as if I was saying forums members were pushing players out, I was actually referring to the toxic Boston media and the young guys.

I do find it odd that the two vets, the "Older guys" are planning an opt out. Hmmm...

The media and young guys aren't trying to push Al out. I think it's pretty obvious Danny's not willing to pay him what he wants.

Al is not getting big bucks in FA, no more than what BOS can give him. The guy wanted out if he is turning down a BOS deal.
Al is going to get big bucks in FA and it will be more than the Celtics were willing to give him.  And Al leaving does not mean he wanted out.

Should we max out Malcom Brogdon to put pressure on Milwaukee? With Kyrie and Al leaving, we should have the cap space.

If he signs the offer sheet, at worst, we get an overpaid, but a very good piece who is an excellent shooter, good defender and a high IQ player. At best, you put Milwaukee in a position to worry about tax implications.

Amazing how 2 injuries doomed the Celtics...first IT and then Hayward.
There is a degree of luck involved for any team. Unfortunately for the Celtics a lot of it was bad.

I think this is exactly correct. Kyrie's decision to leave had nothing to do with what fans on the internet write. He was unhappy with the team and how the season went. The idea that fans are any part of it has no merit, IMHO.

Seems everything since the Hayward injury has been a downward spiral. I hate Cleveland.

I am concerned Boston will have the worst front court in basketball. There are so many needs now...will be hard to address them all.

I just don't see Baynes, Williams and Theis as a first class front line.

Danny is hauling off and destroying the entire team. He doesn't deserve the chance to oversee another rebuild. He either corrects the ship and retains our Stars, or he leaves. I hope Wyc realizes this.

Danny brought this team a championship after a 22-year drought. He's a top-5 GM who, as recently as last fall, had amassed a treasure trove of assets that was the envy of the league. Stop being a prisoner of the moment and see how this all plays out.

You really live up to the "Never Nervous" nickname, don't you! ;D

I like the 'stop being a prisoner of the moment' comment, I am def going to use that sometime.  Probably with my wife!
