Lol the Pelicans essentially calling out Rich Paul with this statement.

Yeah, I don’t see them trading AD to LA and Lebron, certainly not at the trade deadline. They made it clear in this statement that they will be trading him for the best package and when they think is appropriate, which is not in the next ten days with Boston unable to be in the mix until summer.

Bill Plaschke of the LA Times is begging Magic to trade "anyone that NO wants" for AD. Presumably that excludes LeBum

For some reason I can't connect. Can I get some help on what the tweet said, please?

"Although we are disappointed in this decision, our organization's top priority is to bring an NBA championship to our city and build our team for long-term success," the team said. "Relative to specific talks of a trade, we will do this on our timeline. One that make sense for our team and it will not be dictated by those outside of our organization. We have also requested the League to strictly enforce the tampering rules associated with this transaction."

It was a screen grab of a statement from the Pelicans basically saying that if they trade AD it'll be on their timeline based on the best interests of the organization, and they've also contacted the league about enforcing tampering rules.
Much thanks Pho and RJ. TP2U

For one I don't think the Pels will trade him before the deadline.

What if the Suns win the lottery. You mean to tell me that Zion wouldn't be on the table for the Pels to trade?

All these reporters slurping on Bron and the Lakers just to keep a story going. That's where all the drama and stories are. Everyone is signing with the Lakers. LOL

Kyrie isn't going anywhere. The only way he goes to NY is if KD goes to NY. That would be the move to worry about.

And the question that begs to be asked is why on earth would Durant leave Golden State to play for that dumpster fire in New York?

I don't put much stock into this. I know I wrote up a thread a couple days ago about the chance of Kyrie leaving Boston for the Lakers this summer, but that was more of hypothetical then anything else. And the only thing that got me going is Kyrie's phone call to "apologize" to Lebron.

But honestly, I'd be shocked if Kyrie left. Also, as much as I'd like to see AD here, there are other players out there who can help us.

I think Danny needs to expand his horizons a little bit instead of just going after "transformational" players

I don't think AD agrees to re-up with the Suns. Booker and Ayton are nice young players but they have won nothing. They are on track for a sub-20 win season.

And I cannot see Phoenix sacrificing the #1 pick without assurances that AD will stay long term.

I think NYC has a shot because they have Porzingis and a shot to add a max contract FA.

I think Rich Paul is Chris Baynes' source - hence the anti-Boston spin and ruling out Philly (because of Paul's representation of Ben Simmons).

I could definitely see KD's fragile ego leading to him deciding to want to lead a team that's been struggling back into relevancy. That's the only reason I can think of, besides playing with friends maybe

The same reason Kyrie wanted out of Cleveland. To get out of someone else's shadow.

Yeah but I don't think Durant is playing in anybody's shadow in Golden State. I mean he left OKC to go play for Golden State so I don't see an issue there. In fact as a Celtics AND NBA fan, I look at the Warriors being as much Durant's team as I do Curry's for the simple fact that Durant is the best player in the league.

I just think going to the Knicks is a HUGE step down.

Talk about going from the penthouse to the outhouse.

What a wild turn this franchise would take if Kyrie left and AD did not come.

It would then be the young guys team for sure...esp if they added 3 more high level rookies in this year's draft. And Gordon. Can't forget Hayward.

I think the plan would have to be to go super young plus Hayward and then hope Hayward can shine as the lead playmaker and secondary scorer (behind Tatum) next year.  Then maybe shop Hayward at the deadline in 2020.

don't forget a treasure of 1st round picks

I think also the Celts can get Beal

Yeah, but why bother with Beal, who is at best a top 30 NBA player, if the Celtics don't have a top 10 player?

I would just go with Tatum and Brown plus all the picks etc and hope Tatum turns into Paul George.

I agree on not making a move for Beal, but it's pretty tempting. I think Beal is around 20th-25th best player in the NBA (so I'm a little higher on him than you), but he's also still only 25 years old. He can sign another contract with us.
