Regarding team preferences, Boston is not a top target for Davis, sources said. There’s a growing belief of uncertainty that Kyrie Irving will not re-sign with Boston, sources said, even though he vowed to do so at the beginning of the season.

If Celtics trade Irving

Team should do whatever possible to trade for Beal (as long as it doesn't involve Brown/Tatum)

He and Tatum are best buddies

Or by the Rich Paul camp.  Kyrie isn't going anywhere.  Or by Celticsblog, can't have enough clickbait or active forums!!!

For people who don't know Haynes, he accurately broke the "Hayward to Boston" news first. He seems to have good connections with boston

Would not be surprised if Rich Paul is peddling this behind the scenes to Davis as well as other teams and the media.

And Kyrie is not playing tonight so nobody can ask him about it.

Irving leaving after committing to stay several times? Wow that would not go over well in Boston.

But I feel like that Paul does not want Davis in Boston at all.

Haynes is not some no name analyst

at the level of Woj when it comes to reputable rumors .... if not considered even a notch higher these days

He was the first to report that Hayward chose the Celts I believe

I mean, parse it --- there's increasing belief that the Celtics are becoming less and less certain as to whether Kyrie will resign.

Which means this comes entirely from sources outside of the Celts' organization.

I wouldn't put a lot of stock in that.

Now, if it indeed comes to pass that Kyrie signs with another team, well ....

I won't say the Celts are "screwed" because they still have Tatum, Brown, Rozier, Williams, and a bunch of picks.

But in that scenario I would say let Horford, Morris, Baynes go.  Use those draft picks to go even younger.

Plan on showcasing Hayward next year, maybe trade him at the deadline.

Kyrie leaving would mean that any notion of short-term contention is out the window.

Can't contend without a top 10 player.

exactly... I believe he had a few others

I think he broke the news that Lebron will join the Lakers also

He'd be leaving Boston so why should he care how it'd go over here?

Quite frankly, it wouldn't shock me. People love to hate the guy despite the fact that he's playing the best basketball of his career. Can you blame him for wanting to play for a fanbase that'll appreciate him?

I believe his report is accurate inasmuch as people outside of the Celtics organization believe that the Celtics are increasingly uncertain as to whether Kyrie will resign.

Don't put more or less in the report than that.
