The Milwaukee Bucks are one of the teams on Davis' new extended list, league sources tell ESPN. Milwaukee hasn't inquired about a Davis trade, sources say, and its roster composition does make the pathway to a trade extremely difficult.

That report means one of two things:

1.  It's a total bluff by Rich Paul, based upon Milwaukee not having assets.  Davis can claim "see, I was flexible", while really not giving the Pelicans any real options; or

2.  Davis truly is interested in playing alongside a star, but is genuinely concerned about Kyrie bolting in free agency.

no matter the report that comes out its always stated its Rich Paul posturing.

I dont see how its possible for a single agent to reach pretty much every single insider/outlet stating the same sort of thing.

Seems more likely there is truth to the rumors than fiction

I don't think Woj's report itself is Rich Paul posturing.  I think Woj is reporting exactly what NOP has been told.

But, who do you think is telling them that?  Rich Paul.  It may or may not be true, but Davis' preferred list of teams is coming straight from his agent.

Hmm, but since Rich Paul WORKS for Davis, wouldn't Davis be ready to fire Rich Paul if he really had legitimate interest in the Celtics?  I know that a lot of this seems like spin.  But if Davis really wanted to come to Boston wouldn't he clamp down on Rich Paul's crap?

An agent who has made known to the public that Davis was requesting a trade and to New Orleans that Davis has preferences where he would be dealt while Davis is saying he never gave the approval for the trade demand to go public and says he never told New Orleans where he would like to get traded to.

OTOH, Davis is probably lying as, if Paul did go public without Davis' okay and cost him $50,000, my guess is Paul might have been canned.

Still, when you explore which reporter is coming out with the information and investigate who might have gotten that information out initially, it's pretty obvious this is all Rich Paul orchestrated.

The disconnect is that Davis professes to want to win championships for his legacy while still in his prime, and then put the Knicks on his list of teams, but exclude Boston.  That is complete posturing.

So Davis' need for a legacy is quenched in Milwaukee????

Rich Paul WORKS for LeBron James and will is doing everything he can to set the Lakers up

Anthony Davis’ representatives have informed the Pelicans that he would sign long-term with the Lakers, Knicks, Bucks and Clippers if he is traded, league sources tell @TheAthleticNBA.

Davis wants to be traded this season, and to LA.  That's why there's the negative Boston spin everywhere.  Boston is the primary obstacle to Davis being traded to his preferred destination right now.

But, as soon as the deadline passes, things change fairly significantly.

As Alex Kungu called on twitter, this is all about adding teams to the list that can't beat LA's offer and trying to increase pressure to get AD to LA before the deadline passes.

Clippers/Bucks can't top the Lakers offer.

The Bucks are one of the teams on his list. You've got to be kidding me. LOL
They're the small market team that has no trade possible that Rich Paul put on the list to make it seem like he wants to win and doesn't just want LA.

And the Knicks best asset can't be determined until the draft lottery.

Rich Paul petrified of Boston. How many hit pieces has be been behind:

1. Kyrie not signing in Boston
2. AD's dad doesn't trust the Cs
3. Kyrie wants to play with Lebron
4. AD won't resign in Boston

All trying to push NO into a deal now. Bet money behind the scenes Paul is telling NO that Boston will low ball this summer.

Paul knows that Boston has the best assets and they will trump anything the Lakers or anyone else can offer.

I agree, but maybe not.  Both the Knicks and Clippers would have cap space to put another star (Durant, Kawhi, Kemba, Kyrie) beside him.

Meanwhile, until Kyrie is re-signed, there's a chance that Davis would be stuck on a team without a co-star.

So, there's room for sincerity here, even though it's very unlikely due to who controls Rich Paul.

Why should New Orleans succumb to this?  It's not like the lakers offer (which isn't that great) won't be there in the summer while the Celtics will be in the mix.

I just don't understand how these scare tactics are expected to work (or if a deal is consummated before Thursday with the lakers how they actually do work).

I think thats right.  AD wants out now. Thats all this is.  He doesnt want to wait until the summer and waste the rest of the season.
