NO wants someone to take back Holliday's contract. This is a salary dump also for them. My guess is the young players are Ball, Kuzma and Zubac. Not sure what picks they can give them.
Holiday's contract isn't one they have to dump. He has real positive value around the league.

They're trying to dump Solomon Hill's and E'Twaun Moore's salary.

Looks like LA finally beat Boston again, shucks.

Has he been traded?

The Lakers have offered a new package to New Orleans that includes multiple young players, multiple draft picks and Pelicans salary cap relief for Anthony Davis, league sources tell ESPN. The offer appears to move closer to the objectives that the Pelicans are pursuing in a deal.

This is what the LA Times reported was requested by the Pels.  Maybe they want to find out from Danny if he will be able to beat that offer, and with what?  If Danny blinks, looks like the Lakers will win Davis. Shucks. Does Danny tell Kyrie, yo, before I agree to a great package to NO, will you promise, no matter what, to stay in Boston if I get Davis??

Every rumor that I've seen indicates that NOP wants to keep Holiday.  They're more interested in dealing Hill or Moore.

Jrue Holiday would be a good fit in between LeBron and AD.

If NOP do indeed want to keep Jrue, then you gotta think it is Solomon Hill LAL are offering to take back. Maybe E'Twaun Moore too if NOP wants.

Danny's gonna have to beat that offer by throwing in Tatum + Brown, Rozier/Baynes, Yabusele, and four first-round picks.

Nope, just leaks coming from Davis's camp and the Lakers.

Which don't mean anything necessarily as they've been trying to strong arm LA for a bit now.

Pelicans will take the deal imo

Lakers just playing around, until now....and put together the "we can't give it to you all package".

To Pelicans:  Ball, Kuzma, Ingram, Zubac,  KCP,  2 1st round picks, 2 2nd round picks
To Lakers:  Davis, Solomon Hill

Then Lakers fire Walton for Lue?

I wouldn't be surprised they also bring in newly bought out Matthews and/or Jordan

We are going to trade for Davis after the season and Kyrie will re-sign.  We will be the best team in the East and will challenge GS.  Davis is going to love it here.  Just look at how Garnett responded to playing in Boston.

All the noise right now is driven by Rich Paul to try to force the Pelicans to send him to his buddy, Lebron, this season.  The Pelicans aren't falling for it and we shouldn't either.

Even without AD, the Celts are in great shape.

The Memphis pick is looking like another golden egg.

And Kings pick is a lottery pick.

Teams like the Knicks and Lakers will be irrelevant without AD.
The Celtics, with or without AD, are contenders.
That's what separates those teams from the Celtics.

Danny Ainge sees Woj's tweet, frowns slightly and then continues to make preparations to trade for Davis in the summer.

I seriously tend to doubt that.

No way that Ainge wastes even a second on frowning.

I assume the Pelicans have already asked this of Danny.

I don't think Ainge will get out bid here, more a matter of NoP crumbles to Klutch/Lakers pressure.

My wish: The Lakers empty the cupboard to get AD, sending all their desirable players and picks, and even give the Pels salary relief. AD plus LeBron make some noise in the playoffs, but given the weak cast around them they lose to the Warriors.

Going into 19-20, the Lakers' cap sheet is clogged and they aren't able to acquire another max free agent. LeBron gets another nagging injury and father time turns him into a good but not transcendant player. The Lakers fail to get out of the West again, essentially becoming Pelicans west. AD bolts for another team, leaving the Lakers in ruins. Or maybe he stays with a sagging Lakers squad. Either way, he's on the dustbin of league history.

We'll know for sure once the trade deadline passes.

If AD is still with the Pels after Feb. 7, I will totally agree with your assessment.

AD wants out before the trade deadline.

Boston is the one team that can't trade for him before the deadline.

So until the trade deadline is past, AD will not say anything nice about Boston, and AD's reps will do everything they can to discourage the Pelicans entertaining Boston's offer.

Pretty simple. Let's see what his list is after the deadline. 4 more days.
I don't think AD said anything about anyone.
