This is going to be a long few days until the deadline passes. Well at least I have the Pat's parade tomorrow to keep me distracted.

Has the Lakers 'improved" offer changed that much that it is better than what Ainge can offer? It seems like it's the same 4 young players as last week plus 2 first rounders and salary relief.

This might be me just overreacting about the updated list, but this could easily throw a massive monkey wrench into Kyrie Irving staying. Outside of making it to the Finals, it would be a challenge to convince him to stay knowing that youth and Gordon Hayward improving might be the only help he'll get.

Time for Danny Ainge to fully evaluate the team. If he thinks this is a Finals worthy squad, keep going. Otherwise, I'd seriously look into trading Kyrie.

The problem is Ainge is exceedingly unlikely to get anything of value for Kyrie that would be worth passing on the chance of keeping him.  Taking a chance and losing him is better than playing it safe and getting a paltry return.

Just heard on NBA radio that the Lakers have offered:
Baall, Kuzma, Ingram, Stevenson, Rondo & Beasley plus two 1st round picks (no details)

for Davis & Solomon Hill (bad contract)

I think they will take it.

The Los Angeles Lakers have improved their offer to the New Orleans Pelicans for Anthony Davis to include taking back Solomon Hill along with Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Brandon Ingram, Rajon Rondo, Lance Stephenson and two first round picks.

Dell Demps and Magic Johnson have been in touch twice on Monday.

If this is the deal I expect the Pels will buckle. And if so, Boston's future becomes a bit clearer as well as cloudy on the Kyrie front.

This has all been planned out by LeBron, his agent and a few select Superstars...Why do you think James signed with the Lakers to begin with?... Davis' announcement was orchestrated. Lakers will roll with LeBron, Davis, Kyrie or Rondo...and one of Durant/Leonard/Thompson, next season.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.

That is a good offer. LA will be very thin- too thin for the west.

They sign Melo and take a run at buyout guys and two-way player type guys. Its all worth it if they can land Davis.

This is the all major pieces in offer so just remains to be seen if NOP want it. So far the scuttlebutt has been they prefer to wait, but who knows.

I could see Cal leaving Kentucky to coach the Lakers.

Lakers would be heavy in the buyout market

Among New Orleans' priorities in an Anthony Davis deal - young players/picks/cap relief - Pels are determined to get back one player w/ All-NBA potential. Do Pels see that in Ingram, Kuzma or Ball? Boston's Jayson Tatum fits mold. Can Pels pry Tatum? All internal Pels questions.
