The Milwaukee Bucks lurk on the fringes of the Irving bidding with an offer centered around Malcolm Brogdon, the reigning NBA Rookie of the Year, and Khris Middleton, sources say. The Bucks have not yet put a first-round pick on the table, sources say, but the bet here is that they would to get the deal done -- or if Irving showed any interest in staying in Milwaukee long-term.

Ugh so apparently the Bucks are lurking and this could be part of the hold up. Cleveland waiting to see who and if anybody will up their offer. This just seems like bad negotiationg and dirty tactics.

Maybe the Bucks  are holding off on offering their first rounder, because they know that they would lose it to the Celtics in a tampering claim. Teams are not allowed to make trade offers on players in a pending transaction.

Sounds like a David West type move but except both teams' packages are already on each other's teams (Cavs and Celtics).

The physical results have to be submitted to the league by 10am today, and the teams have until tomorrow 10am to certify that they're satisfied with them.

Ugh so apparently the Bucks are lurking and this could be part of the hold up. Cleveland waiting to see who and if anybody will up their offer. This just seems like bad negotiationg and dirty tactics.

The team around him in Milwaukee with be very, very average without those 2 guys. Boston gives Kyrie the better chance to win now and in the long run.
That just isn't true as Giannis is by the far best player and the best future player on either of those two teams.  You win with top end talent, and the Bucks have the best top end talent.  Now sure Parker, Maker, Snell, Monroe, Delly, and Henson aren't great (though Parker certainly could be if he could ever get healthy), but Giannis is just special.
Exactly, I'm guessing he'd be thrilled to play with Giannis. You can argue our package is better even with a Bucks first but if there was any hesitancy of dealing him to Boston who is right behind Clevelands butt and more in a win now mode they could feel easier unloading him there.

They could be waiting for the a veto then come with their offer. This thing is far from finished.

It seems strange to me that the Bucks, or the Celtics for that matter, would pass on Kyrie because they refuse to throw in a late 1st rounder.  If the Bucks trotted out these starters:

Kyrie
Snell/Delly
Giannis
Jabari Parker
Thon Maker

They'd have 2 superstars in Kyrie & GA, a guy who looked like a superb starter / fringe East all-star in Parker, a high upside young guy in Maker and a competent SG combo.

To me, that team should finish 4th in the East and likely land a pick outside the top 20.  I like Middleton (and Brogdon for that matter... but he's like the same age as Kyrie) however I'm not sure why a draft pick between #21-30 would be a sticking point here.

if giannis was special, he'd be able to hit a jumpshot more than once per game, and he'd not get swept in the playoffs.

Wow.   He's 22.  And getting swept in the playoffs has happened to a lot of great players, and depends far more on the team around you.   Complete fail in basketball understanding.
Completely took the words out of my mouth. TP

Yup.  Can't begrudge Kyrie for not leading a garbage Cavs team to the playoffs at the age of 22 and can't begrudge Giannis for not winning a playoff series when he's only 22.

That deal with the Bucks would be a serious downgrade for Cleveland. And for Kyrie.

Guess we might get another year if hero ball in Boston...that is if he can play

Isn't it illegal for the Bucks to even suggest this while a trade has been officially submitted?

Also, even if the Bucks were to add an unprotected first, it still doesn't even come close to the Celtics package, as nothing can match the Nets pick.

You've all been had by ESPN click baiting.

"Multiple sources told cleveland.com that as of Tuesday afternoon, Cleveland hasn't asked the Celtics for anything extra."

http://www.cleveland.com/cavs/index.ssf/2017/08/cavaliers-celtics_trade_is_tre.html#incart_2box

I keep harping on this point, because Woj is just speculating.  The Cavs haven't asked the Celtics for a thing at this point.  Maybe they will, but maybe they won't, and until they do it is nothing more than unsupported speculation.

You do realize that there's a difference between "afternoon" and "evening/night," right?

Woj's story didn't come out until like 8 or 9 yesterday evening, which is when the Cavs supposedly finally engaged the Celtics about additional compensation. Your link above says Tuesday afternoon, which was written several hours prior to Woj's latest report.
Sure, but Woj has been making these reports since the trade.
what does it matter? ive noticed a lot of hating on woj recently. why are people hating on the messenger?  can you prove he's lying?
woj has written some pieces that have been negative about Lebron. This has caused some of lebrons super fans to hate woj and attempt to discredit him.

Lebron wants to win NOW therefore he needs players on his team, not draft picks. Or else he bolts. Then again, he will bolt after this season.
