Even withour IT4..which deal is better

Crowder , zizic, 2018 nets 1st

Or

Middleton, Brogdon, 2018 1st?
for a win now team, the Bucks might be preferred but that Nets pick could turn into a win now player, so it is an interesting thing to hypothetically think about.  The Bucks could make a much more interesting package though.  Something like this for example, Middleton, Brogdon, Dellavedova, Monroe, 1st for Irving, Smith, Shumpert.  Now that would be a much more interesting trade as it better fills some holes the Cavs have.  I'd still rather have the Celtics trade if Thomas was a given for the playoffs though.

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah

Middleton is better than Crowder. The Nets pick is better than Milwaukee's pick. The Zizic/Brogdon comparison is weird because we don't know what Zizic is yet and Brogdon was a 24 year old rookie last year so... who knows.

The best piece in that deal is the Nets pick, though.
Middleton is pretty comparable to Crowder; perhaps marginally better. He also missed 50 games last season with an injury (so is he damaged? :P).

So essentially this boils down to Brogdon + MIL pick vs. Zizic + BRK pick. I know Brogdon was ROY and all that, but he'll be 25 this season and is probably what he is already (which is not much). If Thomas plays even a part of the regular season + playoffs, there's no comparison between the deals.

I disagree that middleton is better. Yes he is a little better offensively but Crowder is better defensively...due to his versatality

Doesnt middleton also have some injury history?

you guys are nuts if you think Crowder is a better player than Middleton.  He has a much better contract, but he is not a better player.

Official deadline is tonight:
A Cavs source said the two sides need to reach a conclusion by Wednesday evening or mutually agree to extend the deadline. Though the Cavs could void the trade based on Thomas’ injury, sources still expect a deal to get done.

It isn't clear what time.

Versatility? Middleton guards four positions.

Jae has been more durable, though.

He's about the same player. Middleton is a better shooter, Crowder a better rebounder. I'm not sure why everyone thinks Middleton is somehow the bee's knees. He had one very good season, but he played 36 mpg. That's about it.

The Cavs are ridiculous for dragging this thing out this long. Even Isiah is annoyed by them you can tell when he said "I don't know what they [Cleveland] are doing."  I can't blame Irving for wanting out.

He tore his hamstring last year. But all accounts are that he looked good coming back. I'm not really sure if it's a long-term concern.

I really want this to fall thru.  Don't really know why.  Just cause screw the Cavs.

I don't. Having to take back a gimpy IT that might be out a long time and a malcontent like Crowder is not good for boston..neither is having to watch Rozier and Smart run the point. Boston would be losing 25 points per game if this deal falls through

gimpy or not, IT will still be in a contract year trying to prove he's worth the brinks truck. And Crowder can still be dealt somewhere else if it falls through - his trade value will not have taken a hit. Maybe they could scare up some backcourt help and a pick for him.
