Also, even if the Bucks were to add an unprotected first, it still doesn't even come close to the Celtics package, as nothing can match the Nets pick.

Lebron wants to win NOW therefore he needs players on his team, not draft picks. Or else he bolts. Then again, he will bolt after this season.

A team with Middleton and Brodgon is worse than a team with crowder and IT (even if IT is only healthy for the playoffs)

Exactly
of course, which is why the Cavs took Boston's offer and not the Bucks or Suns or Nuggets to begin with.  The C's had the best offer assuming Thomas isn't out for the year that is.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Plus no legit lottery pick

I have no idea what to believe anymore...

-Thomas might be done for the season...Thomas says he will be fine this season and will play

-Deal is place....Cavs C's have had no contact...Tuesday night Cavs moved off wanting bigger assets...today seems to back to where we were yesterday

-Cavs not happy about physical yet have not killed the deal

-Dickie V says deal will happen...

This has turned into a mess.

Has there ever been a trade that took so long to finalize or get voided?  This whole thing is getting idiotic.

If it's true that the Cavs haven't reached out to the C's and done nothing except complain to the world about IT's timeline, then there's really nothing to be done. No demand, no response necessary.

All it looks like to me is Cavs were waiting on medical tests on ITs hip and while we waited the media/fans morph this into all the things mentioned above.  The media and social media make news pretty ridiculous nowadays and it's getting a little old. I wouldnt be surprised now  if they were waiting for the deadline for more press and attention.

I think this will go through on the end but they're milking it for everything they can in late August.

I've been vocal about wanting to throw in a minor asset if that's what it takes, but that was under the condition that such an asset was officially asked for to finally complete the deal.  I overall agree with this: no request = nothing to do on our end except waste the work day away.

Unfortunately, this could
well be the case.

Here are my assumptions:

If IT can get on the court and play for a majority of the season plus the playoffs, and play like IT can play, this is a good trade for Cleveland.  IT will nearly or perhaps even fully replace Irving's contribution plus they get Crowder who will help them.  Zizic may help them some too.  Then they get a really good pick.  That is a good deal for Cleveland.

IF IT is out or gimpy for the majority of the season and not able to be 100% in the playoffs, this is not such a good deal for them.  They seem to be planning this as if it is LeBron's last season in Cleveland.  They want to be in the hunt for a title.  If IT is gimpy or worse all season, they won't.

IT says he will be fine.  What you can piece together from reports implies the Doctors think he is healing slower than expected but expect that he will be back on the court at full strength at some point.  This is a tough call for Cleveland.  How do you know.  I think it is a chance they just have to take.  Close the deal and hope IT is healthy soon and stays healthy.  One thing I have learned about IT is it is better to not doubt or underestimate him.  He has a real knack for proving doubters wrong.  If Cleveland calls and asks for my advice, I would tell them to bet on IT, do the deal, make your run.
