I love the mass overreactions everytime the Nets win. Last time I checked they are still the second worst eastern conference team in the east, and it is looking to stay that way barring major injuries.
So far the Nets pick could be anywhere from 3 to 7 pick.
But it's also the team that has had the second hardest strength of schedule so far this year.

I've got the Nets pick at 4-8 this year. I don't think there's any overreaction when the Nets win, though. Ex-injuries, they're better than many thought they would be.

The Blazers are better than people thought they would be, so are the Timberwolves and the Hornets. The Pelicans may turn it around now that they are healthy. Schedule aside, in order to reach 8th worst team, the Nets will have to be .500 all the way, do you really believe that'll happen especially when RHJ is out?
I don't believe it's likely. I do believe that it's enough of a possibility that I have to consider it (as opposed to, say, their winning the whole thing, which is technically possible but just a bit on the unrealistic side). I've got LA and Philly definitely behind them. There's also a group of teams in the Phoenix, Denver, Sacramento, Portland crowd. I agree that New Orleans is past the worst of it. I don't think the 8th pick as a worst case scenario is too far off, although it definitely looks better with RHJ on the sideline. This team has simply won, or gotten really close in, games that I thought they didn't have a chance. Shame on me for having overestimated Houston, but those games against the Hawks, Pistons and Celtics should have been solidly in the L column.

One thing to keep in mind is that a lot of the predictions are based on the fact that their slow paced, bangin' inside system is much more suited to winning games at the start of the season while other teams are out of shape or adjusting ie Wizards, Bucks, Detroit just in the East.
As teams get more in game shape and 'systematic', this grit/grind style will be less effective as trams can literally run them off the floor.
Just let the minutes on Lopez and JJ add up
That's likely where I'm going to miss. Lopez has looked unstoppable for the first quarter of the season, so it's hard to envision him looking soft by game 60. But with him and Joe Johnson leading the charge in terms of minutes played, one would think that something will eventually give. And I assure you, nobody would be happier than I would be if the Nets manage to pull off that #1 lottery slot.
