Nets vs Sixers

This is a really tough game for LB33. He loves the Sixers, but wants the Nets to win so our pick isn't high.
Eddie, do you dream about me?

Sometimes even daydream.

Have you written any long-form fan fiction about me or is your creative outlet for LB33 fantasies exclusive to unsolicited forum posts in basketball threads?    I want to encourage you to keep writing your stories, Eddie.  Just change the name of the seductive Philly fan to something other than LB33 and see if you can get it published.  That's how E. L. James got her start.

What should I title it? Should I be creative and make it a fictional piece were all your ridiculous predictions come to fruition as you masquerade as a C's fan while making post after post to the contrary?

This is getting a little weird guys. Maybe take this to PM? Meanwhile in the game, the 76ers are within 10!

Call it "The Fan 2:  Fanception" and see if you can get DeNiro to reprise his role from 1996's "The Fan" as an obsessed sports fan... but this time an even more obsessed fan is obsessed with DeNiro's character... oh how the tables have turned.

Actually DeNiro was the one that was obsessive.

I'd be very surprised to see Brooklyn lose this game.  The 76ers aren't a real basketball team.  But now that Jerry Colangelo is in charge, all bets are off.   I'm told the tanking is officially over.

I don't like that Bojan Bogdanovic has looked decent two games in a row.

Those Sixers fans masquerading as Celtics fans won't want Philly to win this one , get too close to the Lakers and screw up their 25% shot at Simmons. ;)

Good (tommy) point
Technically if the season ended today, Philly would have a 33.8% chance at Simmons seeing as they can swap picks with the Kings and the Kings have the 5th worst record.

But I'm not sure how Philly winning this would have anything to do with the Lakers.   Lakers aren't finishing with a worst record than Philly.  Lakers need to lose all the games they can, because if they fall out of the top 3 (45% chance of happening right now), their pick goes to Philly... but it would be pretty surprising if the Lakers finished with a worst record than Philly this year.

What you're really trying to say is...

As a Celtic fan, we want Brooklyn to lose so the pick they owe us stays juicy.

As a Laker hater, we want Philly to lose so it hurts the Lakers chance of having the top draft odds.

I don't think it would be at all surprising if Philly ended up with a similar record to LA at the end of the year. On one hand people say Wroten, Thompson, Okafor, Noel, Stauskas, Thompson are all NBA caliber players, but the on the other hand they will win 4 games all year. It can't be both.

I know that what's I don't get. Okafor and Noel are supposedly future superstars, but the team is worse than last year. Were the early Durant/Westbrook teams this bad?

Noel is, right now, a tremendously limited player.  Okafor was a bad defender in college.  The next best guy on the roster is probably no better than the 9th guy in a good team's rotation.  The rest of the team would be lucky to get 10 day contracts.

So, Noel and Okafor aren't that good but they're surrounded by much worse talent.

Mike

Technically speaking the Kings have a game still to play today, if they win that they will jump to 6th worst and only give the Sixers an additional 6.3% on top of the 25% they have right now ;)

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
lopez has 4 fouls with 10 mins left in the 3rd.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Yeah pretty futile exercise hoping for the sixers to win games. With that said, they're only 4 points down as I type.

how much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck was chris bosh?

This is by far the worst basketball I've seen all year.

I can't believe I'm watching this execrable game.  I really wish I could get the three hours back.

Definition of Irony: Thinking "Man, I've gotta pay up for League Pass so I can watch this crappy basketball instead of the ESPN Gamecast."
