Chris22 loves PER. It's his thing.
Gotcha
Celtics fans are such homers about their players.
There is a reason we lost so many games last year.
Once again, Bradley was overpowered by OJ Mayo.
That has incredibly less importance than what you're attributing it. As in, no one cares that Mayo had some good games against Bradley and it shouldn't influence one way or another an evaluation of Bradley's abilities.
I recall shaking my head in disbelief as our best guard defender was completely steamrolled by a very average Ray Felton for an entire series vs. the Knicks in the first round.
Bradley: quick hands and feet on the perimeter, but not exactly physical. Strictly a role player, and in a narrow role at that, which is why he's best off the bench, in which case, as a non-ball handler, he should only be a backup SG, which means, ideally, there is only room for him to get about 15 minutes per game on the next banner team...
This will be his last contract with Boston, at least.
Only if you analyze that Bradley's performance in the Knicks series was the norm for him.
As in, in your opinion, did he defend well and was simply over-powered by Felton? Or did he defended poorly, and Felton took advantage of it?
In my opinion in that series Bradley defended poorly. He wasn't aggressive defensively as he's usually been. He was more worried about running the PG position which took out a lot of focus from his defensive focus, and his defensive effort was simply not there... combine that with Felton being on his game, and it proved to be a disaster.
So while that was a poor series for Bradley, it's hardly representative of Bradley's ability to defend players built like Felton.
All that said, Bradley seems quite focused in getting bigger/bulkier so this might not be a problem, if a problem it is, much longer. A month or so ago there was a video of him training and he already looked quite bigger, he was at 200 pounds or so back then. He worked on this on 2013 off-season also.
