i love how danny screwed this up last summer by signing all this garbage, now he's the idiot trying to rid himself of it.  what a horrible day to be a celtics fan.

i can't wait to watch the idiots with deandre jerseys.
Yes, and we may be one Rondo knee injury away from everyone singing praises about how masterfully he reloaded in motion.

you think this team was only rondo away from the title?  did you watch them before he got hurt?
I think this team may have been only Rondo away from being considerably better in the playoffs. Making an assessment of the signings while ignoring the fact that you lost the player who you expected to be a major piece of your starting rotation for about half of the 3-year window you were shooting for is plain silly.

im not sure we disagree.  my point is that he made this commitment the the team last summer.  he should stick with it if there is no better offer than the reported one.

my bigger point is, and we might disagree here,  that the team constructed last year even if rondo stayed healthy doesnt win a title.  he had a chance to show vision and guts last year and do the deals necessary to transition the team.  the value of pierce and garnett would probably been higher.  he gambled and lost.

  • A true Celtic plays with heart.
If they take Terry, then what would our cap space look like right now?

Could we sign free agents like JJ Redick, or big men like Pekovic, Josh Smith, Millsap, etc?

And people thought Danny was asking for a "kings ransom" by including Bledsoe?

Especially when the whole issue is we couldn't create a shot and that's what Rondo does for himself and others.  It is oddly overlooked (but no surprised Rondo would be, he's awful cause we won some regular season games witho ut him, remember?)
I was on the record saying this team played better without Rondo -- and they did, in the very beginning. But that faded in the playoffs.

The point here is not about Rondo per se. The point is that a large piece of talent was sidelined. Even if you swap Rondo for another player of his caliber, the argument is still the same.

Talks to this point: KG to #Clippers--w/Doc, whether in this deal or not. #Celtics get DeAndre + No. 1. Celts say LAC must take Lee or Terry

if this is the deal..pretty lackluster for boston...just dumping salary for an overrated center and a low pick in a future draft

Seriously.  Jordan is not a star and his contract stinks.  He has shown no improvement.

Terry AND Lee or Bledsoe.  That's it.

Similar to Orlando trading Dwight Howard last year -- these days it's not about getting good value in return for your "rebuild" trade.  It's about getting financial flexibility and positioning your team to tank for multiple years.

if we get rid of KG, PP and Terry...bringing back only Jordan...with a future pick..how do they fill this roster out?

Obviously they don't want to spend money..but will have space...does boston make anymore moves or try to add some more junk to field a full roster

Dunno, people were quite giddy at one about another center who can't score or make free throws... and who is currently overpaid on another team.

he definitely wasn't.  I think that's what's lost in the mix here.  Jordan is a very flawed player  with a bad contract.  Danny needs to get at least 2 first rounders or Bledsoe included in the deal for it not to be highway robbery by the Clips

I fail to see the benefit in this for the Celtics.....

We get a horrible contract in Jordan and a 1st rounder in the high 20s essentially.

Wouldn't we be doing ourselves more of a favor by letting Doc go, letting KG retire and either trading or buying out PP (if the final determination is blowing this thing up) and reaping the benefit of clearing all that salary instead of taking back a ton more in salary (DJ) that we will have a tough time unloading in the future?

PG: Darren Collison
SG: OJ Mayo
SF: Jae Crowder
PF: Dirk Nowitzki/Jackie Carmichael
C: Brandan Wright/Rudy Gobert

Jordan is what he is. The main question about this trade is "What is Kevin Garnett"?

deandre is not horrible, slightly overpaid.
