The Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Clippers are discussing possible compromises to including guard Eric Bledsoe into the Kevin Garnett-Doc Rivers deal with hopes of completing an agreement on Monday, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

Doc Rivers and Kevin Garnett could soon be headed to Los Angeles. (Getty Images)Discussions over a blockbuster deal reached an impasse on Saturday when Boston general manager Danny Ainge held firm that Bledsoe had to be a part of package that included DeAndre Jordan and a first-round pick, but sources say that Boston has shown a willingness to find another asset to supplant Bledsoe and complete the complicated deal, sources said.

Chris Paul would re-sign with the Clippers if Doc Rivers and Kevin Garnett are traded to the team, sources told Yahoo! Sports

Clippers might have to add bledsoe now

So no Bledsoe and Jordan is the main piece?

You have got to be kidding me. Jordan has a bloated contract and cannot score other than dunks and put backs.

What a horrible day this is going to be

Yeah he was on the Dan Patrick show about an hour ago talking about all sorts of things in the deal.  Other sources have said Boston has given up on Bledsoe and the teams are trying to come up with other options.

Woj thinks Paul doesn't leave the Clippers no matter what, but bringing in KG and Doc would leave no doubt to anyone.

What other "asset" do the Clippers have, though? None that I can see. Butler is still decent but is 33, so I wouldn't be inclined to call him an asset.

Knew they would cave.

Fight for Bledsoe, Danny. He's the only reason this would be remotely worth doing.

Yeah, no joke. Clippers would be getting a good chunk of Boston's best, while Boston would be getting the Clippers' leftovers.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
Who is this other asset that Danny wanted instead?

I hated this deal to begin with, but heck, better get Bledsoe or say no.

No Bledsoe, no deal. I also don't want Jordan (I love Jordan, but don't love his contract).

Though, I think it would be best to look for a third team to send Bledsoe/Jordan to and get something in return.

i dont see how any of this is a positive for boston. the pieces they get will be marginal players...and the picks will be meaningless

my guess it the clippers shed enough cap space to pick up pierce when he is bought out next week.

Next year is going to be brutal to watch. other than rondo, just a bad basketball team

Because Garntett's trade value should be enough to bring in a decade of relevance? Nah.
