Ugh if it's a Lakers Heat finals now it's gonna suck to have to root for the Heat.

heats v. lakers for the next few years, only teams with a chance to compete are thunder and bulls.

hooray, a 4 team league.

these rumors change by the minute...who really knows whats going to happen. one minute Boston is in it, the next LA is the team.

trading Bynum/odom makes the lakers pretty small on the inside...this could be Oklahomas year to overtake them

I'm not heartbroken by the news. Chris paul is one knee injury away from retirement. Why the Lakers out of all the teams?

So much for being interested in this season.

Time to blow it up.

Makes no sense to blow it up now when there's still a chance to compete this year. Is it likely we win it all this year? No. It is possible? Sure.

We don't have the fire power to make it out of the east.

So, thus far:

Spurs get TJ Ford

Celtics get Marquis Daniels and possibly Keyon Dooling

Clippers get Caron Butler

Knicks get Tyson Chandler

Hornets get Gasol and Odom

Lakers get Chris Paul

Heat get Shane Battier

Suns get Shannon Brown

Pistons have resigned Tayshaun Prince and Jonas Jerebko.

Woj is now saying it's Gasol/Odom.  I guess that keeps them in the Howard sweepstakes.

Hold on, apparently it's not Bynum and Odom for CP3 but GASOl and Odom... what a robbery!

They probably are going to flip Odom/Gasol.

On the upside, this takes the Lakers out of the Howard sweepstakes.  All they have left to offer is Bynum and Artest, which isn't nearly enough.  The Lakers have also given away the primary thing that elevated them about everyone else in the West, their size.  They've now become an ordinary team that's going to have to outscore people to win.

Just saw that. Wow. I don't think I can stomach the NBA now.

On the upside, this takes the Lakers out of the Howard sweepstakes.  All they have left to offer is Pau and Artest, which isn't nearly enough.  The Lakers have also given away the primary thing that elevated them about everyone else in the West, their size.  They've now become an ordinary or even a small team that's going to have to outscore people to win.

And you know Perk is salivating at the chance to take on Pau one-on-one.

Mike
The trade is actually for Odom/Gasol
