Red Sox look like they're heading into another rough stretch here.  Haven't been very convincing the last few weeks.  Let's hope they get it together again before they fall a few games behind the Yankees.

Sox grab one win in the June World Series.  Let's hope they can get to the real one in October and grab a few more.

Here's hoping Lackey is done for the year.  Anybody, and I mean anybody, would be better at the end of the rotation.

Beckett
Lester
Buchholtz
Miller
Aceves / Wakefield

We can probably get by with that, assuming the hitting stays good.

Kyle Weiland has to be a better option than Lackey right now, he has been awesome in AAA, and has an ERA of 2 his last 11 starts.

Has a plus low-mid 90's fastball, plus curveball, and an above average changeup. His stuff is probably on par with Buchholz, or atleast close. He's pitching on NESN right now, his stuff is [dang] good.

Completely agree (TP) ... can't stand Lackey, and it's been that way for me since he got here. It's been a long time since I've wanted to get rid of a Sox player as much as I want to ditch Lackey, (the name doesn't help ... fits him perfectly). ;)

Yup, he's been very Lackey-luster.

Happy Independence Day from the Red Sox - Lackey goes 2 and 1/3 innings, 7 ER. Guess he wanted to head out and find a good spot for the fireworks.

Wish Lackey could be gone, but there is zero chance of us being able to trade him and his contract is to expensive to release him.

So I guess we'll just have to keep tinkering with him and hope he starts getting himself together until the stretch run when they should just bench him or put him on the DL for the rest of the season.

So Lester strained his left lat during his start tonight, a shame as he was dominating thru 4 innings. McAdam says he will miss two weeks, which isn't the worst thing, considering it's partly during the ASB.

Hopefully this means we get to see Kyle Weiland get a chance to start Sunday. Has a plus fastball, a plus curveball, and a above average changeup.

Out by an abandoned base! Not sure I've ever seen that before.

That was such a silly fight.

It took him a year to fully recover, but Pedroia is back in MVP form.  Gotta love his game.

How is his nickname not "Boston PD"?

"Peds" and "Pedey" are what I hear the most, though he has a few nicknames, as you say. Easily my favorite contemporary player ... I love an underdog, and if anyone ever proved the pundits and experts wrong, it was Dustin. Awesome defensive player, and when he starts getting his offense going, (like now), he's just the epitome of a "complete" baseball player. Love this kid!
