According to a ton of baseball writers, it looks like the Sox are getting Rich Harden for Lars Anderson/PTBNL. I like the deal, because even if/when Harden breaks again, they won't have given up anything of value to them, with Lars being blocked for the longterm.

Seems a reasonable deal for both sides...

The Harden deal is off now. Seems they got a look at his medical reports and didn't feel as confident. Let's see if they had a backup plan in mind!

Let's cross our fingers that Clay gets healthy.

Sox ended up getting Erik Bedard, who is better than Rich Harden anyways. Gave up Stephen Fife, Tim Federowicz, and Chih-Hsien Chiang. Chang is the only one that i think will end up being a starter in the majors.

With Bedard, it all comes down to health. He has proven he can succeed in the AL east, granted it was 2007 but he was pretty dominant. So far this year in 16 starts he is only 4-7, though not his fault as he has a 3.45 ERA, almost a K an inning, and batters have hit .226 against him. And it's not because of pitching in Safeco, his home ERA is 4.53, compared to 2.16 on the road. So yeah, its a longshot but hopefully he can stay healthy down the stretch.

OK, I'll root for Cleveland in the Central.  They've put in a good, competitive series.

Man, I would have said Agon easily, but Jacoby is making a heck of a case.

What a year he's had, especially after  all he went tghrough last year/

Anyone else catch Ortiz busting in on Tito's press conference?  People are upset with him and everything I've read/heard about it is very critical of Papi.

I realize I am in the minority here.  But I absolutely don't understand the reaction.  It is pretty clear to me that he was joking.  Ortiz has always had a dry sense of humor and I find it very hard to believe that if he was actually upset about the rbi, that he would storm into a room full of cameras and mics and cuss out his manager.  I think he felt like he would get a laugh out of it (tito laughed), but im not buying the "tirade" that espn and csne are selling

That was a legit 2 run single. I don't see anything on the replay that would conclusively disprove otherwise.

Sox payback against CC, feels good.  Ellsbury HAS to be named player-of-the-week.
