I cringe with the thought of Williams getting PT.  I mean it's one thing to have to watch Perk play caveman with the ball but 2 clumsy unathletic TO prone players.  ughhhhhhh

I literally might have a heart attack if we have to endure a Williams, Allen, and Perkins triumverant.

If we make the trade Baby for DJ, we would have to throw in either Tony or Eddie House and take back one of their bigs... I would love to pull away Boris Diaw from them but theres no chance of that happening. This trade works under the cap but like I said they arent getting rid of boris...

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine

Rondo/DJ
Allen/Allen
Pierce/Daniels/Brown
KG/Diaw/Williams
Perk/Sheed

Not a bad second unit at all... Diaw gives us a great boost off the bench...But now coming back to reality and ending the pipe dream.

If they added either Nazi or Diop I would be intrigued but their contracts aren't good for what they are worth... Hmmm. I guess in the end this would have to be a three team trade where we net a young athletic big to play a few minutes...When I think of one I'll post.

I think there will be more options to pick up a decent 4th big than to pick up a decent backup PG.  Sheldon still won't see the court, especially in the playoffs.

Kurt Thomas, after a buyout, some other relatively minor trade, whatever.  There will be something out there to pick up.  Sheldon Williams?  Playoff rotation?  Oh, no no no.

I wouldn't trade frontcourt depth for a backup pg. Rondo's probably going to play 40 a game in the playoffs.

Usually I'd agree with you, but with Perk, KG, and Wallace all putting up 30+ mpg in the playoffs, there isn't going to be much room for BBD either.  And is it really a downgrade to play Williams or Scal the odd 5 mpg that BBD would've played?

The way Wallace has been plaing we might need that 4th big to play more than spot minutes. Especially if Davis could get back to a level that approaches last spring.

Didn't see anyone post this, but according to the article it would be Baby in exchange for DJ Augustine.

I really like the idea of Baby + Giddens in exchange for Graham and Augustin.  Would definitely improve our bench.

On the other hand, I still tend to think we'd need to move Ray for a better, younger SG in order to really put this team over the top.

Simmons' tweet is confusing me:

Baby + Giddens for Augustin + Graham. Done. Call it in. Good deal for both teams. I like Augustin. http://tinyurl.com/ylenfc3 15 minutes ago from web

Is he saying it's a done deal or that that is what the deal should be?
He just clarified.

BTW that last deal isn't done, I just like it. What about this 4-teamer? Who says no? Probably Boston...

If Graham is included, I would do this trade in a heartbeat. Definitely improving our 2nd unit!

I still don't like the idea of having Sheed and Shelden (would do a great job on the boards but he is invisible offensively) as our only froncourt backups, but maybe we could get another big man by trade or buyout (Battie is rumored to be bought out before the deadline, maybe Danny plans to sign him?).

They could be looking into this due to anticpiating getting size in another deal (Nocioni with Martin? I know -- wishful thinking).

This would open up a spot for thomas if we made the hinrich/thomas for ray deal.

Is this April fools joke? Replacing a big for a PG, Really? Are we this desperate. Teaming up DJ with House is as close to dooms day as it get. And then you have to rely on the Sheed's corpse, we know how this is turning out. Not to mention KG has a recurring injury. Baby is finally fullly recovered from the surgery. And he's playing really well. I hope Doc can move Glen ahead of Sheed. Baby is much better playing along side KG and Perk rather than Sheed.

Now if they turn around and then do this it would be a stoke of genius.

I've been as happy as anyone lately without Baby, but this team desperately needs another capable pg on the roster. This deal probably makes House expendable.
