Trade Big Cry Baby and J.R. Giddens for D.J. Augustin and S.Graham. I check the trade and it would work.
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

This would open up a spot for thomas if we made the hinrich/thomas for ray deal.

Now if they turn around and then do this it would be a stoke of genius.

Why would the Cs trade for Hinrich after trading for Augustin?

  • You know my methods, Watson.
I'm sure the various Charlotte, NC McDonald's chains are salivating over this rumor...

I hope he cries some more, as long as he keeps playing well. He might be an immature cry baby, But he is also a good basketball player. You can rely on him in the playoffs. I have nothing against DJ. Its just you can't trade a reliable big like Glen for a PG. It doesn't work especially how bad Sheed is playing, and a limping KG.

Does anybody think this doesn't help us at all?  We're one of the worst rebounding teams in the league, so we trade a big man for a point guard?  He has been the best big off the bench as of late I just don't see why we do this.  Augustin is nice, and I do like his game, but not with Rondo.  Why trade Davis to get Augustin to play 10-12 minutes when we can just offer Ty Lue the vet min to do it?

Because Ty Lue is washed up and we are looking at spot minutes for our 4th big anyway that Shelden Williams won't butcher too bad because he can't possibly butcher 3 minutes.

I'm told the two teams have talked, but I wouldn't be so certain Davis would be the guy the Bobcats covet.

The Celtics need another guard who can knock down shots, which brings D.J. Augustin (or possibly Flip Murray) to mind. Obviously, the Bobcats would love to get Rasheed Wallace, a longtime favorite of coach Larry Brown, who hasn't played particularly well of late in Boston.

We can't give them both up, we don't have enough size.

SO you basically give Sheed the green light to throw bricks at the rim. Shelden Can challenge Sheed. At least right now Glen is making a case to take over the 3rd big role, maybe this can wake up Sheed. And also the 2nd PG on this team will get 6-8 minutes in the playoffs. So yes Ty Lue can be a good last resort if Ainge can't find a 2nd PG. Doc can go crazy and Play Rondo without any rest. This team needs Glen. KG is nearing the end of his career, and has a recurring injury. And Sheed basically needs to sit down next to Doc.

Give them Sheed NOW NOW NOW. He can start in Charlotte. Take him please. If Tyson Chandler is healthy can get him.

Is he really the 4th big though?  He's been playing basically as much as Rasheed as of late and has been more productive.  Also, with KG not being 100% healthy we are not just looking at spot minutes.  Sheed has been trash, Davis really should be the 3rd big.
do it

I can't believe i'm saying this but -- I don't think we can trade Wallace. We'd go back to having no back-up center again, and as bad as Sheed's been he serves that potential role in the playoffs. I prefer Davis but would have to choose to trade him in thise deal unless others are imminent.

I'm not really worried about the front court depth in this trade. Danny is a smart GM and I'm sure he realizes that DJ/House back court is not going to work. That is why I think if he does this trade, he is planning another trade that involves House and us getting another big. At least that's what I hope. Tyrus Thomas IMO is going to be easier to acquire than people on this board think. Chicago really wants to get rid of him for expirings. And I know Thomas himself is an expiring but if I'm correct, he has a player option that allows him to resign next year for 4 mil which CHI is deathly afraid he will choose to do. So maybe we can fleece CHI in getting Thomas for Scal and a pick...I just believe in Danny I guess.

I just came up with this. The Bobcats save cash and get the big they are looking for (Larry Brown is a big Sheed fan).

Celts pick up a back-up PG and get a slightly more athletic big which is what we need right now.

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yhcofh3
BOS gets: Diaw, Augustin
CHA gets: Rasheed, Tony Allen, Giddens

Rondo/Augustin
Ray/House
Pierce/Marquis
KG/Diaw/Baby
Perk/Shelden

And we have Scal in a pinch.
Boston loses Tony but Marquis is basically the same player.

If Tyson Chandler is fully healthy. How about Tyson/DJ for Sheed/House/Scal
