No no no. No Diaw. His contract is a monstrosity for this year and next and I question whether he is even trying.

From what I read the Charlotte ownership drama is coming to a head and Michael Jordan has been given a deadline of the end of this month to come up with the proper financial package to beat a deal proposed by George Postolos, a former Rockets exec

Now, if it looks like Jordan can't beat Postolos' offer, I wonder if current Bobcats owner would be instructing Jordan to do things at the bidding of Postolos come transactions he would want to happen come this trade dealine

Postolos apparently isn't a big Larry Brown guy and Jordan most certainly be fired

So maybe he would want to start over and want some long term salary gotten rid of before the deadline hits

If so, I would not rule out a Ray Allen, BBD and parts trade that nets Stephen Jackson, DJ Augustin and Nazr Mohammed

It's a very very long shot but things could change on a dime in Charlotte if future ownership wants long term contracts traded, which isn't completely out of the question
Pick 2 Knicks

SG: Ray Allen, Anthony Parker, Quentin Richardson
SF: Grant Hill, Matt Barnes, D
PF: Zach Randolph, Kenyon Martin, Jon Brockman, Dante Cunningham

No thanks.  Daniels and House handle the guard duties, why would we give up a big man?  I'd much rather have a SF.

Augustin and House together?  I don't think so.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Conspiracy theories...I love it.

HOWEVER:  Keep in mind the Sonics probably wouldn't have traded Ray if they weren't moving, so weird things happen to teams in ownership flux.  Heck, Atlanta couldn't do anything at all, even the obvious, when their ownership situation was a mess.  It makes some sense...even if that team is just starting to look good now.  It really would almost be a crime against the sport to blow them up.

Just did some work with the trade checker and if I were Danny I would do Baby/Giddens for DJ/Graham trade only if we could do something like this after:

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yjjfjtj

Scal/TA for Thomas (give or take a pick)

Rondo/DJ
Allen/Daniels/House
Pierce/Graham/Walker
Garnett/Thomas/Williams
Perk/Sheed

Not perfect but I think it makes us a lot better

Incoming

DJ Augustin

outgoing

Glen Davis
JR Giddens

What do you think of this trade? I know the Bobcats are looking for some front court help in exchange for Augustin and the Celtics could really use a backup PG. I think I would make this trade and give big babys minutes to Sheldon Williams.

I do not feel comfortable with a front court of Perk, KG's good knee, Sheed, and Shelden.  While I like this trade value-wise, they need to be getting another big somewhere, because KG is just too fragile, Sheed is too lazy, and Shelden is just bad.

Now, if they can extend it to be something like Davis, Scal, and House for Augustin and Mohammed (who is having a great year), then you're talking.

I didn't realize Eddie was an expiring so I guess you could replace TA with him. Not sure if CHI will do it becuase they would have to add another player (Richard) to make it work.

I wouldn't trade frontcourt depth for a backup pg. Rondo's probably going to play 40 a game in the playoffs.

Usually I'd agree with you, but with Perk, KG, and Wallace all putting up 30+ mpg in the playoffs, there isn't going to be much room for BBD either.  And is it really a downgrade to play Williams or Scal the odd 5 mpg that BBD would've played?

What if KG gets hurt?

Then it doesn't matter who's playing because we'd be screwed anyways. Championship or bust.

Not really.  Depends on how many games he has to miss.  Would be too bad if he has to miss some games and we don't have someone reliable to step in.  I wouldn't risk it.  No way would I want to count on Sheed and Shelden.

Bobcats beat writers are saying that the Bobcats want Sheed.  Apparently Larry Brown loves the guy.  Go figure.

If we can dump Baby and Sheed on the Bobcats, maybe that frees up enough bigman minutes to make stomaching Sam Dalembert's contract worth it.

Here's my three way trade: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yg5csrw

Bobcats get some bigman help in Baby and Sheed (I have no idea why they would want either bum, but I'll go with it).  They give up Augustin and Graham (Simmon's twitter idea).

Philly dumps Dalembert and Iggy for expiring contracts.    Boston dumps two useless bigmen to open up playing time for Dalembert,  bring in a backup point guard... and for the heck of it I threw in Gerald Henderson's son for some oldschool Celtic championship karma.

Someone wanna work the Suns and Amare in as a 4th team?  Ray to Phx... Amare to Philly?

i would take damebert if they can get iggy.....rondo, iggy, pierce, perk and Kg would be a nice starting five (some young and old)...

bench:

PG Augustine
SG Eddie/Tony
SF Daniels
PF sheldon
C Dalembert

This might be workable, but I think Philly will want some picks in the deal, and Wyc would have to write one heck of a fat check to cover Sheed's trade kicker/bonus, which I believe is due at the time of trade?  But I really like this deal for several reasons.  We would need to pick up another big PF so we don't have to count on Scal or Shelden to do anything but waive towels in the playoffs.
