Larry would take Baby for Augustin?

Holy cow. Someone make that deal before Brown sobers up.

Or before Baby gets drunk and punches someone...

If it is a bigger trade, this might make sense.

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yl8a4dw

Probably a draft pick or two going to Philly.

They cut alot of payroll.  They turn Williams into two younger guards making less money on shorter contracts.  They make a real reset.

I cant imagine Philly trading both Lou Williams and Iggy.  Theyd be giving up two good players just to get rid of one bad contract

Instead of trying to sweeten the deal with picks / prospects, how about this:
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yfl2suo

Baby, House and Scal for Augustin and Diop.

Diop is awful offensively, but not a bad 10th man for defensive purposes. He can rebound and defend. Charlotte would love to stop paying him $6M/year though.

House is expendable with Augustin coming in. Augustin + Tony Allen second unit backcourt. Augustin can bring the ball up and also shoot 3s. Allen plays up-tempo and defends.

Getting 8-10 minutes a night out of Diop frees up Sheed to play more minutes at the 4, so that's more insurance against losing Big Baby.

Yes, I doubt a guy is going to regress in his sophomore year from a basketball standpoint unless he is uncomfortable in his situation.

Or if opposing teams have all of his tendencies down cold.  Which is probably a stretch.

Augustin has primarily struggled putting the ball in the basket.  Most of his other stats are on par with last year.

He might just be an extremely streaky shooter, prone to % swings akin to those House has undergone throughout his career.

So while his ballhandling ability would probably sort out a lot of the disorientation that keeps the bench player from initiating the offense until 5 seconds are left on the clock, his streaky outside shot, diminutive size and inability to finish inside (as well as the perimeter orientation of our big men) makes me expect little overall impact for swapping him for House in the rotation.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

Here is a four way that works for all the rumors.
Boston/Philly/Chi/Cha
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=ygu3gqt

I think this works for all four teams!
L.A. Clippers
Derrick Rose Blake Griffin 4.11 5.3 5.15 6.11 7.15 8.11 9.15 10.11 11.15 12.11 13.15

I wouldn't trade frontcourt depth for a backup pg. Rondo's probably going to play 40 a game in the playoffs.

Usually I'd agree with you, but with Perk, KG, and Wallace all putting up 30+ mpg in the playoffs, there isn't going to be much room for BBD either.  And is it really a downgrade to play Williams or Scal the odd 5 mpg that BBD would've played?

What if KG gets hurt?

Then it won't matter anyway, because we aren't going to the finals.

I'd rather move baby and get a backup PG that can help us. I'll buy glen and JR thier tickets.

If we get Augustin, the House-era has officially come to an end. I think Danny will use him in a trade (Ty Thomas?) to acquire a big if this Bobcats trade gets done.

Right now, my team of "untouchable Celtics" are Rondo,Pierce,KG,Perk, and Quis. Outside of those 5 guys, the rest of this team should be FULLY available. Now this DJA for BBD rumor is supposedly centered around them, so expect more players to be involved other than just trash(Giddens/Walker)
Two scenarios that would make our team this year's gold squad...

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yfwhtj8
BOS - Hinrich,Tyrus,Salmons and DJA
CHA - BBD and Giddens
CHI - Ray, House and Tony

The keys to this trade is that even though we get Augustine as a back, we still get Hinrich to help run more plays as well as play a good defend SG that can't be left open. Salmons provides defense lost by Tony plus he can create his own shot and score. Tyrus Thomas becomes an open target for lobs from our guards and shot blocks from both sides.
Charlotte gets their fat body, and Chicago get's their expirings and rids them of TT.

Rondo, DJ
Hinrich, Quis
Pierce, Salmons, Walker
KG, TT, Scal
Perk, Sheed, Sheldon

Another scenario(since some here think Hinrich would be overkill with DJ and Quis)
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yh8d9ub
BOS - DJA,Kmart,Nocioni and Kenny Thomas
CHA - BBD and Giddens
SAC - Ray and House

DJ becomes our true backup PG, allowing Quis and Tony to play defending/slashing off guards. KMart would now be a 30ppg SG on a championship team. Kenny Thomas becomes our proven vet to provide defense, low post offense and REBOUNDS! Noc would be our 1st wing off the bench to both score and create mismatch problems on defense for the opposing sucker.
CHA still gets their big boy, and now SAC gets rid of Kmart to free up time for TyEv to be the man. Plus Ray goes to a team that would have little to no value for him, leaving the door open for a BUYOUT!!! New Ray = 6th M.O.T.Y

Rondo, DJ
Kmart, Quis/Tony(Ray)
Pierce, Noc, Walker
KG, Kenny
Perk, Sheed, Sheldon
Can't stop, Rondo!

  • You know my methods, Watson.
IMO, the only "untouchable" on this roster is Rondo...

If someone were to offer the farm for any of the other guys, even the Aging Three (because of the mileage they've logged), you'd have to consider it.  Of course you don't just make "any" deal, but what if it were the "right" deal...

I don't even think I would consider Rondo untouchable. If someone like CP3 or Wade were to be offered, you'd have to say yes.

  • Rondo = Good
Trade BBD for DJ and then trade House + Scal + Billy for Ty Thomas.

Tyrus Thomas is already an expiring contract.  The only way you get him for just other expiring deals is if you take back Hinrich, Salmons, or some other contract.

Rondo is as untouchable as any player in the NBA ever is.

Only LeBron and maybe Dwight Howard are untouchable. I mean who wouldn't you trade for one of those two? Unless you're the best player in the league, or the best big man there is always somebody better than you that you could be traded for.
