Incoming

DJ Augustin

outgoing

Glen Davis
JR Giddens

What do you think of this trade? I know the Bobcats are looking for some front court help in exchange for Augustin and the Celtics could really use a backup PG. I think I would make this trade and give big babys minutes to Sheldon Williams.

i think there is a ZERO percent chance of the bobcats doing it.. felton is as good as gone after this year and augustin is going to become the starter..

I wouldn't trade frontcourt depth for a backup pg. Rondo's probably going to play 40 a game in the playoffs.

I think the Bobcats would consider Davis + 1st round pick for Augustin.

I think they'd consider making the deal for Davis + this year's pick.

I'm not sure. I always get confused on that rule.

I misunderstood you the first time. I thought you were talking about the 2010 pick. Do you think the Bobcats have less interest in the 2011 pick? Why? Too far off in the future for a team built in the present tense?

I think they'd view either pick as a comparable asset. I don't think it makes much of a difference which one was on the table.

Well, I've read in three other places that Larry Brown does not like Augustin and that the Bobcats are anxious to move him.

Brown has been trying to trade Augustin for a few months now. He absolutely hates him. And they are looking for a PF, so they might be interested in this. OTOH, Davis isn`t a Larry Brown type player at all...

But we wouldn`t do this either. Who would back up KG? And Augustin is too small, we already lack length with Rondo and House at PG...

http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_teams/charlotte/2010/02/ :

Charlotte head coach Larry Brown is determined to move point guard D.J. Augustin for a veteran big man.

Michael Jordan and Rod Higgins wanted to draft Brook Lopez with the ninth pick in 2008, but Brown demanded they pass on the center for Augustin.

Via Yahoo!

If they are so determined to move Augustine then I think we might be able to get him cheap. As for who is gunna back up KG? I think a Perk/KG/Sheed/Sheldon rotation would be better than if we had BBD and no back up pg

The odds are slim that we make a trade with a team we are likely to face in the first round.  Forget it.
