Listen Eli is probably the 7th or 8th best quarterback in the league and he is now the top payed quarterback, I dont think thats smart, but I guess since the contracts arent guaranteed its not a huge deal

Brady
Peyton
Rivers
Brees
Mcnabb
Cutler
Warner
Big Ben

All guys I would take over Eli
and I might even want Aaron Rodgers and Matt Ryan over him too

looks like you should stick to basketball.

I wouldn't take Warner, but i think it's a pretty strong list otherwise. guess i should stick to basketball too. ::)

Warner was an MVP candidate last year, Granted he had stud Wide outs, but still he had no where near the running game Eli does people knew he was going to pass and he still beat them.

donovan mcgrounder? philip shotput? ben the scumbag? jay cutler?? this is the best one --- kurt warner?

you guys are just sour about losing to the guy.

poll every GM in the NFL which guy they'd take right now to build around and Eli is VERY high up that list.

quiet leader, respected in the locker room, reliable, young, poised, lots of come back wins, the face of one of the most respected franchises in sports.... winner. the giants wouldn't trade him for any one of those guys, seriously, not one -- including brady. that's why they paid him as much as they did (which by the way is essentially the going rate -- look at his brother's deal).

while you review your passer rating chart every week, watch the guy win. it's going to keep happening when payton and tom are in their nfl rocking chairs.

Kurt Warner was a legit MVP Candidate last year, and a former Mvp winner.  I would much rather have him leading my team this year than Eli.

And I dont know what you are trying to get at, but adding nicknames after peoples first names isnt a great way to win an argument

Wait a Minute, thank god I took the time to finish reading your post

The New York Giants would not trade
Eli Manning

I'd also bet my entire bank account that if the colts called tomorrow and wanted to do peyton for eli, straight up, the giants would take it and pack eli's bags for him.

What has Cutler won?

How has McNabb responded to high pressure situations?

How old is Warner?

What have Brees and Rivers done?

Brady
Payton
Big Ben
Eli
Warner.

(just glad you didn't add Romo)

As a Giants fan, I am happy to have him as the QB.

Cutler has performed better consistantly and is younger
Warner is really old which begs the question, why is he so much better than Eli

Brees and Rivers have consistantly been better Quarterbacks than Eli, its not their fault that the defense has let them down, but look at the numbers, they are consistantly better without the WR options that Manning had.

Mcnabb beat eli this season in the playoffs

Yea, im not saying he's a bad QB. to be in the top 8, where i have him, at his age is awesome, He's only going to get better for the next few years. If we didn't have brady, I'd like him too.

I just think the giants overplayed for him, and i find the notion that SSS was putting forth that the giants wouldn't, in a world where they just get to pick, wan't brady or peyton, is silly.

my self-explanatory knicknames were for fun, mon fere, and i resisted joining in this ridiculous debate with you because it's pointless. you wanna talk about QB rating and mobility (subsequently listing a group of guys who have had knee surgery). i'm talking about winning and fit -- the stuff that actually matters in sports.

what credibility you think i have makes no difference. eli manning is a taylor made fit for franchise quarterback in new york, and more specifically for the giants organization. you're obviously not a giants fan so you likely have no idea what i'm talking about.

they would not trade him today for brady, or anyone else. they traded him once for rivers and 'riods merriman. and they would do that deal again right now every day of the week and twice on sunday. they have a very good chance to win the superbowl again this year, and in the process win or lose eli won't be checking the paper for his qb rating, or his fantasy stats. brady's one of the greatest players ever, and he's 5 years older and coming major knee surgery. i like him and admire him and the pats, but the giants wouldn't trade eli -- period.

maybe in 6 or 7 years he can borrow warner's glove. after all, it's hard to hold the ball in the tough conditions in arizona.

This make anyone appreciate the kinda money Brady takes so that we can build a superior team?  Taking a pay cut to re-sign Moss and give us the ability to sign others.  Talk about the golden boy,  Eli can... well you know.

When has Cutler been to the playoffs?

How did Mcnabb do when he made it to the Super Bowl?

Brees and Rivers, both played on such a deep team that did nothing.

Eli, Super Bowl MVP.  Lead the Giants on two come from behind drives in the 4th quarter against a then undefeated team to win the Super Bowl.

Eli also hasnt won a playoff game without plax and will be one of the WORST quartbacks in the league this year without Toomer or Plax.  He will be in the bottom 10
