http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=43784076 year/$97.5 million for a quarterback that has finished 14th, 24th, 18th, and 23rd in quarterback ratings over the last 4 year and who over his first 4 1/2 years in the league has a completion percentage of 55% and a passer rating of 76 while averaging 21.5 TDs and 16.5 Ints per season.
Are these really the numbers that one of the highest paid players in the entire league should be getting paid?
I know we have some Giants fans on board here and wonder what they think. Is this another case of a Manning being so greedy that he handicaps his team from getting better by demanding an unrealistic amount of a 56 member teams salary outlay?
I just can't understand what the Giants are doing here. Their defensive line, one of the game's most improbable catches, one of the tallest WRs in history playing against midgets and toughness and attitude won them their last Superbowl. Not Eli Manning.
After the new CBA is put in place and there is once again a salary cap, this contract is going to ruin a very, very good team long term.
